Just got this forward from my sis - thought I'd share for those who haven't seen it. It IS pretty awesome...

My paternal g'parents hit 60+ yrs. before he passed, my maternal g'parents hit 50+ before he passed (she lived to just shy of 104), an uncle (my Mom's oldest brother) hit well past 50 yrs. tho the last several yrs he was taking care of her as she lingered for several years after a debilitating heart attack - & he's since remarried #2; the next oldest uncle has buried 2 wives (& 2 sons) & married #3 a couple yrs ago; my folks hit 50 yrs in 03 - don't know that my Dad will make it thru this year... If I counted both mine I'd be at 30+ - but this one's gonna stick all the way (I do believe :)!) We'll hit the 23 yr mark next month, certainly not a chance for anywhere close to 83...
Unfortunately the way some of his work pals seem to be dropping off the past couple years, I catch myself wondering just what would happen if it was to happen to me in the near future - unexpectedly. We are just now being able to do so many of the things we haven't been able to do while being focused on raising the kids. Being able to spend the $$ & take the time to do the work to do some of the things we've been talking about doing for years to fix up our home, starting to actually begin making plans for trips to some of the places we would really like to go to - that now there is really no reason not to just do it!! Even just being able to relax & not be worried about something to do w/the kids. We're also to the point where, tho still young (especially at heart), we're definitely over 50.
Oh well - off to attack a pile of Calculus HW for tomorrow nites class... Enjoy!!
