Tho this is just another this & that kind of post. I have Spring fever something fierce... Mowed my acre (even edged my way into the weeds taking over part of the pasture nearest the side yard without going toooo crazy!! - & set water yesterday - been pulling at weeds for the past month, but it was over 80 yesterday, clear skies & no wind. Skunks have been out too - of course leave it to our Maggie Mae to find the ones that are!! Did you know that a combination of white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, & baking soda works wonders for the smell! :)
I woke up Monday morning & finally (after only 8 yrs now) ordered my Navajo Dye chart from the lady whose Mom originated them in Window Rock, AZ and she has a large one almost completed so I should get it in less than 2 weeks. When I mentioned it to DH he again mentioned he was sorry we weren't making the trip back up to Four Corners to pick one out - but he's been saying that now for as many years, & the last time I got an e-mail from the shop he tells me is where I saw the one that originally caught my eye - they weren't the same quality anyway. So now that's finally done!! In the past month I've filled in at a Bunco nite, been to a pampered chef party & a party lite party - the home party world that I never do!, but teacher/neighbors from the HS use them as get-togethers also. Was kind of fun - especially Margarita nite...
DH was supposed to get his little electric car delivered from his friend in Winslow Tuesday - but I guess the wind coming down the mountain was so bad it whipped the tarp off the car and one of the bungee cords creased up one of the fenders so he went back home and decided to wait on the trip to Laughlin. Now DH will have to go see what kind of damage that means to see if he still wants the car - tho I know he does. He's staked out the way he can legally drive the thing to work & swears it will cost him like less than $50 a year to drive as a commute car...we'll see!
We finally (after about 3 months of looking) both agreed on a lo-boy TV console that also has enuf storage space for all the audio-video equipment to be stored neatly to put a new large screen LCD TV on and got it ordered a little over a week ago. The store called today, & it's here & will be delivered Monday. They had told us it would be like 6 weeks. Now we have to go buy the TV... I'm thinking we'll move the old oak wall unit into the gameroom, but will have to see how it "feels" once we get it in there next week. May have another thing to find a new home for. Of course if it does work, I then have a huge heavy open shelf I got from a florist shop that I've used for open toy storage for my day care & now it's my G'ma shelf to get rid of - unless DH just moves it on into his shop building also... DH hasn't gotten the TV wiring extended to that corner under the roof yet, so a TV won't be working out there for awhile anyway. Not like I've really gotten much use out of my "new" sewing room this past year anyway w/school & classes, tho do see the laundry room quite regularly!! Have been quilting steadily on D25's Xmas quilt tho so hopefully it will be ready for them by this X'mas.
Our new Target and Kohls opened w/a splash the last couple weeks. I did go check them out - tho not much of a shopper so only came home w/a new big doormat for the french doors into the gameroom/my sewing room and since I'll have the 2 boys home, some candy for making up Easter baskets - I guess I should buy a ham since I'll have boys home to fix a dinner for. It's been really nice not having to cook full meals every nite - or am I just getting lazy?!? If anything, I'm sure I've gained a few pounds this winter, not a lot just enough to notice to much just grabbing whatever is easiest (which usually means sourdo bread, cheese & summer sausage and definitely my share of chocolate.
S21 flies into Vegas Saturday nite for a week home for his Spring break out of the Boston snow & cold. Even tho it's the college spring break for me too & I won't have to go to class, I'll be at my desk most of the week (the days I'm not at the HS) as my Calculus instructor couldn't push back our scheduled test so we have #2 Wednesday the week we go back, covering 2 sections he won't even go over til the Monday we go back, so it's HW over stuff we haven't had in class, a quiz due also due when we go back, & a 2 chapter test review for a subject none of us is doing very well in... And on top of that when I stopped by a friend's to pick up a study guide for the AEPA Secondary Math exam - she couldn't lay hands on it right away so in the meantime she sent me home w/teachers editions of textbooks for Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Geometry, & Statistics - to get me started while she's looking - the guide she bought is over 150 pgs - the test is in less than a month. I am saving my gift certificate for a massage for the week after it's done ...
Thinking I'm going to get my hair trimmed & maybe a pedicure (another Xmas gift certificate) tomorrow now that it's sandal weather - and tonite another good long soak for my aching muscles in the hot tub under the almost full moon. I'm obviously not going to focus real well on math tonite, so I think I'll actually read a bit. Anyone else a fan of Jodi Piccoult? I've discovered this past year I really like her writing, tho I've just about worked my way thru all her books so far.

Hi Jo
Good to see you again. I think you will like the new set up for the TV once everything is in place and wired up.
I know you will be glad to see your boy and have them home for a week.
The temps are so nice right now but as we both know the summer heat will be here in about a month and a half.
Hope you enjoyed your book. I have heard of that author but have not yet read any of the books.
Happy Easter!!
HUGS
Nice to see you here,Joanne!
You are busy! People think I am busy...you win!
my dd is now a HS math teacher..she was supposed to teach algebra this semester but another teacher became ill..so she got his pre-calc and AP calc classes
we can sympathize with the stress of those tests...do you think one massage will be enough? LOL
good luck
hugs
