slow week,busy weekend!

It was a relatively slow week..schools were closed, many folks went away inc dil and the dgc.  We had a bit of snow...still very wintery here..no flowers yet

Mon we had our new neighbors over for dinner, lovely young couple. He is a kindergarten teacher, she is from El Salvador..I practiced my  Spanish!..brought us a lovely bouquet

Wed I had lunch with dd and friends, Fri dd came for dinner and we watched "I am Legend" have you seen it? good movie but VERY intense!

ds was working on his kitchen remodeling: tearing out, sheetrocking ,painting..dd helped one day, Bob helped 3.

then last night I got the sweetest phone call..dgd,3,...they were home from their 5 day trip..one day early and she missed me!...spoke for a long time before I could get a word in!

Then dil  got on..seems dgd wanted to stop here before they even got home!

After driving for 3 hours with 3 little kids, dil was not inclined to do that.

so they called from home

and we ended up going over and getting both girls, giving them dinner and having a "sleepover"

they were here until around 2 pm today..very funny...dgd,3, was "p'tending to be evil" and her sister,1 1/2, was her "evil assistant"
She saw the bouquet on our table and exclaimed "that flower looks like the antidote"!

(from her new "Mariposa" movie...queen was ill, needed an antidote..it was a flower....)

this Wed I start a new 5 week, 10 hr course Spanish for Educators

I have been trying to read Ken Follet's "World without End" but I was not liking it...

wonder if they will call me to sub.....

hope this finds you all  well

hugs

Yes, little girls that age say the most fun
things :) My Katelyn turns 4 years old next
month; just growing up too fast. And she is
in toddler size 10 shoes already!

Nice that you had a good time with your neighbors :)

Aren't kids great? Just being around them lightens your entire day with their imagination:) This evening some parents and I were sitting around talking when Jayden, 17 mos. old pointed to a mom and started tapping his foot and wanted her to join in. she looked at me and asked...what does he want me to do? He's pretending to be a butterfly and wants you to find food with him:) Then he started flapping his wings and pointed to her again wanting her to join in. Again...what does he want me to do...fly like a butterfly and look for food. I joined him and showed the mom how the game goes:) Rylee's mom was there too and was amazed at the kid;s knowledge about unfurling probiscus, sucking up nectar then looking for more food and really liked their butterfly life cycle song. Your dgd will love it. Its sung to Up on thr Rooftop (Christmas song).

First comes a butterfly to lay and egg

Out pops a catterpillar with many legs

Oh see the catterpillar spin and spin

A little chrysalis to sleep in

Oh, oh, oh, wait and see

Oh, oh oh, wait and see

Oh out of the chrylasis, my oh my

Out comes a beautiful butterfly:)

Glad you can practice your Spanish with some new friends. Sounds like you had a great time. As for me all the Spanish I know I learned on Sesame Street:)
