Good morning friends... a beautiful day filled with sunshine. I
think spring has finally spring!! I have daffodils and thankfully
they did not freeze in the wierd weather fo the past few days. It was snowing and hailing just 2 days ago....uggggggggh! I think it's time to buy and plant some pansies and geraniums. How are things at your house, spring yet?

The daffodils were in bloom when we left 3 weeks ago. Gone when we got home Saturday. The creeping phlox along the drive is in full bloom. The fruit trees and some bushes are full of blossoms. Dh planted dahlias yesterday...he spent the whole day in the yard mowing and trimming and planting/I was inside unpacking and doing laundry. Lilies and tulips should be blooming anytime now.
We saw quite a few wildflowers blooming in the desert as we drove home. Spring time in the desert always causes allergic reactions with me and this time was no exception. My eyes were dry and itchy and I got a rash on my face and neck. I was so miserable! No more desert in the spring for this gal!!!
It is a bit chilly here yet. Some rain tomorrow then warming up for the weekend. Hope you get some sunshine then too sweetie. XO

Spring? what is that?? what is this Spring you speak of? and flowers? surely you jest! LOL
our section of NY seems to be closer to the North Pole than earlier thought....
there are still piles of snow here and there....
I should go back to my old house to see if the crocuses are up..around the new house is just dirt and rocks
we were supposed to get a delivery of topsoil (from the old house!) last Friday but IT SNOWED!!!!
we need topsoil and grass seed
so ask me again later about Spring..like maybe in June! LOL

This is the time of year I hate. Yeah we have some daffodils attempting to bloom but yesterday we had a "typical April Rocky Mountain day" that started with blue skies that grayed over for grapple (lumpy snow balls that look like hail but are snow instead of ice) then horizontal snow
We're having a typical midwest spring. A couple of days in the 60's with sun, just enough to really fool you. Today is cooler, with rain, and the weekend is supposed to be rainy with flurries mixed in. Oh, and Thurs/Fri they're predicting storms, some potentially serious, so have your tornado kit handy.
Here we don't plant until mid May at the earliest, and it's not recommended until after Memorial Day. I enjoy watching people from other areas that are new here. They run out and buy buckets of petunias and other summer plants, get them in the ground, then have to re-do it a few weeks later. While the crocus are blooming, and the daffodils are poking up, the other perrenials are smarter, and staying dormant for a while. I'm not even removing the mulch, yet.
