Pink ladies

Sun, 04-06-2008 - 7:01pm

Friday night we had our "Pink Ladies" dinner(ususally every other month)....Pink Ladies is sort of like "red Hats" but its all ages..from gals right out of college to ..well, even older than me! LOL..but I really like the age range.

We don't wear hats but we do wear pink (except for dd who doesn't own any pink) And we always collect $$ for some worthy cause..usually cancer but not always. (We will be doing the American Cancer Relay for Life in June)

This time the dinner was at the "Beaverkill Valley Inn". It's in that book "1,000 Places to See Before you Die"...Lot of "rich and famous" have been there...last Fall we rode our bikes up there

http://www.beaverkillvalleyinn.com/

..had a nice evening..nice dinner..the chef,Chris, is a former student, the boys she had working I know now from subbing..they said "Mrs K. is here!!..she's our favorite sub" . So Chris said "well she was my
favorite teacher!"

we had salmon with avocado /wasabi sauce,   lamb stew, chicken with cheese stuffing, wild rice chicken soup..dessert was an awesome choc. cake with blackberries and whipped cream

I get to see lots of gals I know, inc former colleagues and former students..its nice

I sat with one gal whose son is going to school in our state capitol, Albany, and has not been able to find a job. This weekend we are in PA for Bob's grandson's 1st birthday. A relative who was here is in charge of hiring @ the hospital up there..he said to have the young man call him! I hope it works out!

We are here until Wed..we are helping out with babysitting because ther sitter is away

I have to be back Wed to teach my course@ 4pm

We were supposed to get our first load of topsoil on Fri..but it snowed!! :(

We need lots of landscaping around the new house: in an interesting twist, the builder is bringing dirt from my old house! We can bond! the old and the new! LOL

Hope this finds everyone well and happy

hugs

Hi Dutch

You dinner with the Pink ladies sounds delightful. The Inn looks very nice. Fun to have a group of ladies you can get together with and do it for a good cause.

Have a good time in PA.

Well so you will have some of the old place mixing in with the new. Kinda nice I think!!

Love ya

Dutch, your group sounds like so much fun and the fact that you help charities is even better.

It was a buffet so you sample a little of each!

It was good..and nice to know the chef!

I had been there before but couldn't remember why...but she did! It was for a retirement dinner

It is a beautiful area

This month people are up because trout fishing season, opened April1

our area is famous for that..people come from all over for it..even Jimmy Carter did!
