It's been quite a day for me. My siblings and I have
decided that our mother will move from this island,
to live with my sister and brothers on the Big Island
of Hawaii.
I'll escort her tomorrow morning, and fly back tomorrow night.
She is just too frail, too this and too that, to live alone in
her senior apartment. I have no room my in my condo and so
she has to move there.
We knew from about a year ago that this day would come soon.
Then throughout next week I will deal with cleaning out
the apartment, giving away her furniture etc.
Shipping the rest of her stuff to her at a later date.
Looking forward to that sibling meeting on the Big Island
tomorrow. (not!)
Hugs,

Hi Cindy
This is always such a hard time when our parents cannot live by themselves any more. I hope the move goes smoothly and she will like living with her sisters and brother.
Not fun that is for sure. You have a big job ahead of you.
Love ya
Cindy,
Dealing with aging is certainly a challenge physically and emotionally for everyone involved...including the family/caretakers!
Dutch, Mare and Sooze...thank you for your kind thoughts.
After helping my mom for three years, it is time for my
siblings to take over.
Because it's all happening so fast, my mom was calling her
friends and relatives on this island to say goodbye,
and in turn they were calling me to get more details
of her move to the Big Island.
Off I go to the airport and when I get back late tonight
I'll be posting her things on Freecycle; at least people
are quick to pick up, going that route : )
Big Hugs,

That is such a difficult thing for everyone. It must be really hard on your mother to leave her friends and contacts there. It sounds like it's the best move for her at this time, though. My best thoughts to her and to all of you that this all goes well.
Kat
Hope the move went well and that she will be content there...I can see that for my folks too!
BB, mahalo!
Like you, I'd better start thinking of how
I am to be cared for 30 years from now. : )
See ya soon!!

Kat, thank you so much.
And with her mind not being 100 percent, she told
them that she'd be back for regular visits, but the
reality is that she won't.
I'll be making more trips to see her and my siblings.
Thank you again!!

RJ, many thanks!
The trip went well and she was happy to
be among my sister and brothers. Coming back
to Honolulu, I felt strange, yet I know that
they will care for her very well.
God bless you as you help Mom and Dad!
Hugs,
Cindy
