Well, it is now time for Her Move

It's been quite a day for me. My siblings and I have
decided that our mother will move from this island,
to live with my sister and brothers on the Big Island
of Hawaii.

I'll escort her tomorrow morning, and fly back tomorrow night.

She is just too frail, too this and too that, to live alone in
her senior apartment. I have no room my in my condo and so
she has to move there.
We knew from about a year ago that this day would come soon.
Then throughout next week I will deal with cleaning out
the apartment, giving away her furniture etc.
Shipping the rest of her stuff to her at a later date.

Looking forward to that sibling meeting on the Big Island
tomorrow. (not!)

Hugs,

It's wonderful that your mother has such caring children.

Gabby, thanks : )
Yep, it is hard to predict when the day will come.
And when it does, there is no turning around.
Well be here for you at that time.

Thanks again : )

Cindy, I must admit that I have some jealousy here of the fact that you have siblings ready and able to help.

What a difficult time this will be for you and your mom, never is easy to make that decision... but sometimes it is for the right reason so she will be ok once she has settled!

Keep you both in my thoughts!

Oh Sooze, like you, I have some friends who are taking
care of a parent or parents alone. Quite overwhelming
and it is normal to have the feelings you had.
Could have sent my mom sooner, but waited until
I absolutely could not do it anymore.
Sometimes, with enough of the right meds, a person
can come back to who they were before mentally.
Sooze, I'll be praying for you, too :)

Lori, thank you : )
The decision hit everyone like a ton of bricks,
but had to be done.

See you in chat,
