Had to go back to the doctor today

I am suppose to get another brain scan, but do not want the Cat Scan would much prefer to have the MRI, and so my doctor was going to price it out for me so I could decide which I would go for.   Well right now I am  not sure what I will do as the MRI with the dye injection will cost me about $1195.00 but if I go for the CT scan it is free.  I do not like radiation and have had a lot over the years so am trying to avoid having more, especially since I need these every year.  But that is a fair chunk of change, so I think I have to be realistic and likely go for the CT Scan.

I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and forgot to get my RX's  renewed, so  got those done as well, and then I decided to mention my neck to him.  I have had this lump in my neck growing, and then  3 days ago it felt like it burst and my neck got sore to move it around.  Today it is feeling better but it was not so nice for a couple of days.  Anyhow this has happened about 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years, so I figured I may as well see what he thinks.  He told me it sounds like it is a cyst that grows where my thyroid was  and because it has no where to drain it grows and then pops, then grows again.  He said they can do an ultra sound on it for me and then  if I prefer I can have that removed.  Well I am a big baby when it comes to surgery... I mean a REAL BIG BABY!  So I said how about if I keep track and let you know how often this happens then we decide from there on.  He knows how I feel about surgery and so said ok if that is how I wish, but likely we will have to deal with this down the road.

Renovations are still plugging along... slowly but they are happening so I am not complaining too hard.   Dh has taken today off.. and oh how he needed the time away from it, he was getting stressed over it.  Tomorrow he will be back at it I am sure.

Brittany is in a play this week, she has the lead role, and on Thursday they are performing  for  the public.  I can not go as my casual is away on vacation, but dh is going and he is going to video it... dd asked the teacher if it would be ok and she said sure!   So I won't get to see it live but will be able to see it on film anyhow!

Well guess I better go get the dishwasher loaded up, I hate dirty dishes laying around.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

((((((((Lori))))))))...I know you are concerned about the radiation but today's machines are so low in radiation that once a year should be fine.

Because I have had such a bad reaction in the past, when they removed my thyroid they gave me the stuff they give cancer patients when they are undergoing radiation/ Chemo treatment.

You are probably right about that Gabby, but still after years of having xray after xray on my back and stuff I am quite cautious.

here's an odd thing....I emailed my friend in Germany about it, joking that we often have the same things go wrong with our bodies....well, apparently she has the same symptoms and will now see her orthopedist!!

take care

when dd and I were in Germany last year , she could not get over how much Monika and I have in common...not the least of which is the interest in languages

it is odd, and it all started 20 years ago as penpals

Lor,

Having alot of health issues all at once does throw me off too. At least you know you're a big baby when it comes to surgery. LOL I don't think I am but I probably am.

Glad your dh has a day off. My dh is here today having an extra day off. I have to do some work later today.

Hugs,
Kathie
