the day after the house warming I got some sad news
my kids great uncle died..brother of my ex fil,,but he had kept in touch with me..still considered me family, just like fil and his wife
it was a terrible car accident..27 yr old woman, 8 mo pregnant veered over the yellow line head on into his car
he was killed instantly ,his wife is in critical condition
(the woman and her baby ,later delivered by c-section, survived)
very sad
I spoke to ex fil and wife on Sun..I planned to go to the wake which was to Wed,,and they were glad I called and hoped to see me there
(she was going to call me Sat but didn't want to spoil the housewarming..how thoughtful!)
then it got changed to Tues
dil asked me to watch dgds and she and ds would go to the wake
it is a 3 hr trip
but she said it was ok if I decided I wanted /needed to go
spoke to dd and we agreed I should go
so dd, Bob and I will go tomorrow..I feel better..i had spoken to some of you today
it was real dilema

Oh my!That is very sad news.
I can just imagine the caos.
you are right
I am glad I went
was warmly received by his children who were glad I came and thanked me for making the trip
the most touching moment was when I told his daughter how he always treated me like I was still family and kept in touch..she said.."well, he loved you Barbara and always talked about you" she also said well you are family!
dd went down with us....we had dinner with her grandparents and 2 aunts before the long trip home..they treat Bob well
trip home was 1-1.5 hrs longer than usual...accident and car fire on the NY Thruway
was almost 11 pm when we got home
we continue to pray for his wife who is still in critical condtion in the hospital,,they try to always have someone there so when she wakes up "she'll see someone who loves her"
it was so emotional...and such "sensory overload"...I am wiped out...I cannot imagine how they are
hugs
