DH no longer has his little red car!

I never made it to D32's Thursday as a big rig forced me off the freeway about 40 miles out of Needles & apparently I rolled Derwin's little red car three times in the median before coming to rest on its top w/me held in there upside down by the seatbelt. Thankfully there were CalTrans workers right there & by the time I came to a stop they were already outside the car working at getting me out. And, it turns out one of them & a CHP chased down the trucker too. I've come out of it w/only a couple cracked ribs and a small laceration of the lung on the left side and a small puncture type wound and bruising on my upper left arm and was released from the hospital this morning to finish up my recuperating - not much I can really do but take my pain pills when it hurts, sleep a lot, & let it heal itself. I am so thankful that 18S chose not to go w/me as by the pictures DH took of the car at the impound lot- the passenger front end took the brunt of the flips. The only window that didn't break was the driver's side - maybe because of the air bag & me presssuring against it - but I didn't bang my head on anything, & only have a couple very small cuts on my hand and leg.

We've had one heck of a week I think we should be done!!! S18's arrest last week, then Wednesday nite the front corner of the back pasture caught on fire & we had 5 or 6 fire engines out here to put it out. Neighbors alerted us to that and we got enuf of a start to keep it out of our neighbors pasture & hay bales right next to our irrigation ditch it was coming down.

Mary, I'll join you in spirit watching lots of movies parked in my recliner...:)

Anyway more next time - just wanted to give a heads up on the from this corner of the world.

Glad to hear your OK, more or less. Cracked ribs are painful, may they heal quickly. What a scare!

Sounds to me like you have had enough excitement for quite a while. May tranquility reign there for a long time.

Rest and heal Jo. Time for a little, "Me time!". Such a way to get it though.

Best wishes,

Rain

Hi Jo

Oh my goodness girl!! I am so glad you were not hurt any worse that you were. I would imagine those cracked ribs are pretty painful. Yes looks like you are joining me in the rest and relax and heal part. Thank goodness there were people close by to help you and I am so glad they found the trucker that ran you off the road.

You take care and keep us posted on your recovery

Love and gentle ((((HUGS))))

It has been pretty peaceful around here this week! DH finally went back to work this morning, S18 has even done the occasional pick up after himself (when reminded) & I'm still sleeping a good deal of the time (the pain meds I think). A little better each day - but tomorrow will be a week.

Thanks for the best wishes...

HI Jo

I am sure those pain meds are making you sleep. It is a good thing as it gives your body the rest it needs to heal. Take care and hope your Ds continues to help by picking up after himself. Hope in another week you will be feeling much better.

From what little I've heard so far - the trucker didn't even have a clue he caused an accident. Of course our insurance was rather relieved they stopped the guy - but we shall see... Hopefully will get a copy of the police report before the end of the week to see if there were any actual witnesses & how it got written up. After the bush, I certainly didn't see anything but the inside of the car from upside down in the drivers seat, the car from the perspective of being set on the ground next to it when they pulled me out of it, & the crew that was right there w/me til the ambulance got there.

The car gets moved somewhere today that they don't have to pay storage fees & can do their inspection to let us know what they'll offer for it, so that much is started.

Thanks for the "hugs"...
