"By the time I got to Woodstock..." I was 39 years late...LOL
We live not far from Bethel, NY, site of the 1969 Woodstock concert/festival...I did not move here until 1975
In Aug 1969, I was not even in the country! I was studying in Spain! But I would not have gone anyway....
After many years, a local billionaire,Alan Gerry, built Bethel Woods a performing arts center..very nice...
This week a Woodstock museum opened there....very well down..class act all the way...and we got to to see film and artifacts from the actual event
very moving actually..esp the part where the Army helicopter comes with medical help and the guy screams..:"THEY ARE WITH US!"
we went with friends..also of that era!

also this week, local turtles have deemed our yard the perfect to bury their eggs! by Aug we may be the turtle nursery!
we are near a lake..but they must climb uphill to get here
I guess they like the open, sunny spot

Wow, Dutch, those are really nice venues they built.
I would not mind visiting if I go to the East Coast again.
The turtles, so cute!! I want to buy a baby Sulcatta
tortoise, about an inch or two big with the high dome LOL.
High maintenance in a way, but so cute!
Hugs,
Cindy

you THINK you would have wanted to go..if you saw the mud, mess and masses...you'd be glad you were not in it!! LOL
I do know folks who went tho...a claim to fame for them!
well, when you come to visit me, I'll take you there! we'll roll in the dirt, make daisy chains and sing oldies! LOL
more turtles are coming..at least we THINK they are different ones..we should have painted #'s on their shells!
I don't think they have laid eggs here before this year..last year it was a wooded lot..now it is open, sunny and new dirt to dig in..we created the perfect Turtle Nursery!! LOL
have a great day

My daughter and family last year went back to remenise and to see the momument again.
She told me that it was gone. She says at least she has a picture she took years ago.
I forgot that we found two baby kittens in the feild at the site.To young to fend for themselves. So we took them home.My was a marble calico.I named her Woodstock. And the orange one the kids took back to their dads.My woodstock has been gone long ago.She fell threw the ice.Daisy is STILL alive.and still with their dad.Kwel
Patrick and I did go to the reunion whatever it's called 20 years later.Four days of camping out with a whole lot of people. It was like going to a Grateful Dead venue.LOL There were bands an bands and BANDS.Playing just about 27/7.It was GREAT.
the monument is still there!!!
