Hi friends.....trying to get back to reading and posting.
Its hot and muggy here....our 4th day of 90 degree temps and 60% humidity. Way too hot for this early in the summer!
Mother is into her third week at the transitional/rehab facility. She is doing about as well as can be expected considering the pre-existing conditions she had before the fall and surgery. I expect that she will be in this place another week or so, then we have to figure out what is next. At least the move isn't as urgent as I feared. She can go back to her existing apartment at least temporarily, but probably needs to make the move to the "assisted" living area in her retirement community. I was so afraid I was going to be forced into making that decision for her, but time has been on our side, and she is coming around to that decision for herself. Thank you God!!
A sad thing happened within our church family this weekend. A 13-year old boy was jogging with his aunt and collapsed, then died on the way to the hospital. They are trying to figure out what happened...had to be more than heat exhaustion......he ran all the time. We should know more about it soon. This was a kid we had in our choirs and it is a horrible tragic loss of course for his family but also the church family as a body. His immediate family and his grandparents are church members. He was in the confirmation class this spring. The funeral is tomorrow evening. Unfortunately, I have walked this path......it wasn't easy then and the memories are not easy now, but perhaps....just maybe....I can be there for this young mother. They also have an 11 year old son. So sad!
Well, I'm chugging along with my usual stuff as well. Wish I could get away for a bit.....hated missing the meet and it looks as though there is not a time this summer....a lot depends on mother's situation.
I am trying to read a bit and catch up here. Have a good day all.

HI Sooze
The weather has been so awful your way. Sure hope you will get some cooler temps soon. It is to hot to soon for you all there.
I am glad your Mom is progressing and hope that getting her into assisted living will not be a hard trangression for her. Glad that at last she is seeing that she needs more help to live on her own. Will make things a bit easier for you.
I am so sorry to hear about the young boy from your church. Will keep his family in my prayers. You can help this young Mom get through this and I hope she will be willing to have your help. I know this is a very hard time for you bringing up those memories for you.
Come back soon and post I miss seeing you here.

LOL..maybe thats why i cant think anymore..all that damage to the brain. ;o))....hope things cool down for you.today was a beautiful day here..dry..no humidity and 77 degrees....why cant everyday be like this...oh i know..then we wouldnt learn to appreciate the good things when they do come around.
