Don't need surgery, yay!

Went to the surgeon Tuesday. He said where I've torn my meniscus that in his experience, if left alone, it will wear smooth on its own. He is rather conservative and doesn't like to "go in" unless it's really necessary.

It is feeling better now, anyway. I haven't needed the cane all this week. The swelling only comes back if I overdo. Will have to watch it for a while. I have a return visit with him in a month to see how it's coming along.

I guess I should have just gutted it out and saved a dr. visit, but after 10 days or so, when it was still buckling from under me, I thought I might be making whatever it was even worse.

Anyway, he told me I could ride my bike, so I climbed back on! It will not aggravate it, he says.

Well, thought I'd just let you know that. Am busy as a bird-dog here. Finally got some sun the last few days. We're getting all the rain you all need. But, it's getting old, I tell ya. The winter that won't die.

Frank and I have a busy weekend with friends and such. He will be getting a BBQ from the girls and me for Father's Day (he's been wanting one so badly).

Okay, see you all on the flip side.

Hi Red

I was just thinking of you this afternoon wondering if you had seen a surgeon yet. I am so glad he doesn't think you need surgery that is very good news. Well you never know when something like that happens and was probably best that you did have it checked out. At least now you know you can ride your bike and as long as you take it easy it should heal. So now you will be good won't you?? LOL

I am getting anxious to get life back to normal here. I go to the Dr next Wed. So hoping he will set me free again. I have a feeling low fat diet is the way I am going to have to go from now on but it really is not so bad after you get used to it. Definately feel better eating this way.

Tell your Dh I send him Happy Fathers day wishes. He is going to love the grill

Doing the happy dance for you about the knee.

Love ya

Good news! No surgery always sounds good!! So, just don't overdo until it is healed....easier said than done?
