And I missed chat. I'm sorry. I got all involved in everything that happened and forgot to say anything about it ahead of time. I know that you all did fine without me there, but I meant to let you know.
It's been a long two years for her. She spent most of that time thinking she'd gone into the wrong area. But last week, she (rather unexpectedly) got a job...working with the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She's looking forward to that, even though she had been hoping to take a little time off before she started working. But it will be a positive experience and I think she will like it and do well there. She also has a potentially serious boyfriend which helps. :)
On the negative side, my son and his girlfriend broke up. They have been trying to work things out and get married for the past two years, but she finally told him that the pressure being exerted against her by her family was just too much and they had to stop seeing each other. His visa is up the middle of July, so he will be coming home and we'll just see what direction he decides to go in then. I'm hoping he will want to go back to school and get his degree. That would really be useful to him.
I've started riding a bike to work on good days...as much to save on gas as to get some exercise. Unfortunately, our weather has been quite uncertain so I haven't done it as often as I'd hoped to. It's still hard for me and I have to make myself do it. Once I get out on the road, I kind of like it...until I get to a hill. And we have a lot of hills here. Hopefully, the more I do it, the easier it will get and I won't get discouraged and give it up.
I hope this week-end was a good one for all of you. Mondays come so fast!
