It's been a busy summer here, haven't had much time to post but I do read the board and try to keep up!  LOL!

We plan on going to Virginia next week for the holiday....I sure miss being close to DD, Dsil and DGS!   Have to make the trip every once in a while or I go into withdrawl...

Tomorrow Bart and I will celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary!  I can hardly believe it has been that long...WHY does time fly so fast when you get older???  I think we are going to go out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate since he will have to work on Friday.

I'm still on my food plan that my doctor put me on in January.  So far I've lost 33 pounds and am working toward the goal she has set for me.  But the best part is I've been able to do away with my cholesterol medication and my blood pressure medication has been cut in half!  I'm hoping that when I go for me next checkup in October she can cut it further or possibly eliminate it all together!

Hope everyone is enjoying SUMMER!!

Hi Char

We will go see the fireworks this year. Since dgs is here we might even go to some of the holiday activities they have out here.

You look great girl!! Love the picture!! You just keep sticking to the food plan and you are going to be to the perfect weight for you.

Congrats on your anniversary. Enjoy your dinner out and splurge a little you deserve it.

I know what you mean about missing your family. Living so far away from our Dd and her family makes it hard sometimes. Cannot wait tell she has this new baby and we can go back and see them all again.

Summer here is the time to stay inside and when we go out we are usually heading for our pool. Enjoying having our dgs here.

Love ya

WTG Char you look great!!! Congrats on your anni. Nine years does fly by quickly when you're having fun:) Enjoy your trip and hope to see you post all about it.

As for the 4th. nothing much. I'm invited to a cookout the 5th and will be marinating Mojito Chicken for that. Have to put all the mint growing in my yard to some kind of use:)

That chicken sounds sooo good and I have a ton of mint...please share the recipe!

Lately I've eaten so much chicken and fish I feel I will sprout feathers or fins at any given time! LOL!

Char the recipe is easy.

In zip lock bags place trimmed and cleaned chicken breasts.

In a mixing bowl place mint leaves and macerate.

To the bowl of mashed up mint leaves add Lime juice and tequilla(optional)

Pour over the chicken breasts in the zip lock bag and marinate 3-5 hrs( overnight is best:)

take chicken from the marinade,
