Here is a link to an article that iVillage has set up to help people find assistance to help get their medications for free or at a more reasonable price for those that need help.

What a great thing that is... especially with the cost of some medications!

Hi Lor

I agree insurance can cover a lot of the cost but so many people still cannot afford the high cost of some medications. My Ds has a $400.00 amount he has to cover himself on his medication before they will pay for his meds. That is sometimes a pain for him thank heavens once he has made that level of money he only has a smaller co pay for refills.

Love ya

What I think is terrrible is something I read in the AARP Bulletin yesterday. Some hospitals are requiring a down payment on your surgeries now. For instance, a man featured had a tumor in his neck and it was going to cost 40,000 to treat him. Well, the hospital wanted 20,000 from the guy up front. He didn't have it , so now he's going to Mexico to see what they can do for him.

Terrible!

Hi Red

Unfortunately that seems to be the case now days especially if you don't have good insurance that can help you cover most of the cost. It just isn't right!!

Great resources Mare. I appreciate your bringing them to out attention.

Red, can only shake my head at what is happening with that man. Scares the H"" out of me. If that happened with my son, he wouldn't have a chance.
