My dd rushed my 3 yr old gs to the hospital yesterday. He was taking a nap when he woke up throwing up. Naturally he had bee bathed so my sil dirinsed him off. The whole time he was wobbly and sort of out of it. Sil brought Gabe back to the living room where my dd had just got home from work.
DD noticed his eyes were rolled backi n his head was stiffer and he was unresponsive. My sil tells my dd that he had hit his head on the wall by jumping off the tgop of the dresser. I am sure that she did some yelling. They get to the hospital they do the bp check and a catscan of his head.
Lots of other tests, meanwhile my gs is still un responsivefor about 3 hours.Suddenly he wakes up and he is talking .He gets something to drink and seems much better the tests show he is dehydrated so they had put in an IV right away .The best they came up with is a virus. Lisa and I were in tune with a concussion, the symptoms met the criteria. So they send him home with not even a tylenol. Me and my dd think they misdiagnosed him. they also weren't sure if it was contagious. He threw up again at my house but he did eat some luchmeat after that.
If any of you ladies are nurses or have had a child behave this way please post. I said prayersand did some explaining to my other 4 grands not to drink after my sick gs since it might be dangerous. I used that with the 2 yr old heunderstands that word.
I will keep you posted, Thanks for listening.Hugs ladies.

Hi Grams
I sure hope your dgs is doing much better today. With kids you just never know. Sounds like he was dehydrated and that can cause that wobbly out of it problem. I am not sure the hospital got it right but a virus would show up I would think in the blood test.

Glad he's better, too, Grams. Hope you also took the opportunity to lecture the kidlets about jumping from furniture, too!
That must've been scary!
Grams that is terrible!
Grams, I've seen the results of a few concussions. Does sound like that is what occurred. Glad to hear he seems better. Won't help to keep an eye on him for a while.
Sending prayers that all is well,
Rain
