Fires

Yesterday I went to town, and on the way home I noticed that dreaded haze, which means a fire somewhere!  Apparently there is a good one just a bit frim where I live, so far they have lost over 44 acres and that was as of early yesterday, so who knows how much now.  Then as I was unpacking the groceries the siren went off, and there was aload of smoke just down from my home, so I took a run to check what was going on, and it was a fire that was just outside of my library.  There was onlyh one fireman left herre the rest are up fighting the other fire... so it was put out by community members.  the library is ok it was caught in time..whew!  I think it could have been a careless person throwing a smoke or something as it was in the grassy area.  Was a big scare though.

Now hope they get the other fire in control, it is pretty scary! Oh and the smell of smoke is everywhere...yuck not great for the asthma.  My dd is having a hard time with it today.

Anyhow pray they get it out soon!

HI Lor

I sure will pray they get that fire out quickly. I am so glad that the community helped get the fire out that was so close to your library. What a terrible loss that would have been.

Asthma and smokey air are not a good thing. They finally got the fire out that was burning north of us. Thank heavens the smoke didn't come down into the valley.

Love ya

Fire is so scary and I hope you are all fine and the fires quenched. If dd is having trouble with smoke and asthma giver her Quebraco 200C and boil Eucalyptus oil in water on the stove and she should be fine. You can also cut the oil with some cooking or olive oil and place under the noase or on her chest like Vaporub. Whenever Ralph has an attack that's what I do and he's fine. When he feels an attack coming on he actually yells for me to get the stuff ready. While I haven't used the Quebraco on him...I was out, he swears by the E oil and hangs his head over the boiling pot with a towel and the attack soon passes. His last attack was two years ago. Before he arrived I sprayed all the furniture with Fabreeze and no sooner he was in the house had an attack. He never reacted to it before but I remember Grams saying she had a reaction to it so they must have changed the formula. Stay safe and hope this helps.

The fire is pretty much out now, the helicopter pilot told me that it is pretty much just mop up time now.

It is scary when it is so close to home, and lately we have had such bad winds it was very tense to see if it spread

People really dont think and do stupid stuff like throw a lit smoke out, just takes one little spark and a whole forest can go or a community ... not good!

Glad things are getting under control here though!
