Yesterday I went to town, and on the way home I noticed that dreaded haze, which means a fire somewhere! Apparently there is a good one just a bit frim where I live, so far they have lost over 44 acres and that was as of early yesterday, so who knows how much now. Then as I was unpacking the groceries the siren went off, and there was aload of smoke just down from my home, so I took a run to check what was going on, and it was a fire that was just outside of my library. There was onlyh one fireman left herre the rest are up fighting the other fire... so it was put out by community members. the library is ok it was caught in time..whew! I think it could have been a careless person throwing a smoke or something as it was in the grassy area. Was a big scare though.
Now hope they get the other fire in control, it is pretty scary! Oh and the smell of smoke is everywhere...yuck not great for the asthma. My dd is having a hard time with it today.
Anyhow pray they get it out soon!

Oh Bern never thought to ask you about what to do for asthma before...thank you so much!
Wish we could get a sample of the rain, but only enough to douse the area.
Thanks Cindy!!
Looks liek all is in control now...thank goodness!
Very scary
Most definately!

I hate the smell of that wet smoldering burnt wood.

Oh, I know Lor...the fire season is in full swing down here, too. The one up by Spokane has been going for a while, and one near Mt. Adams is awful. Just thousands of acres. They say lightning started that one, but the Spokane one was a bbq grill that got away.
My brother has been up in Spokane for 10 days. He's coming home Sunday and we wonder if they'll send him to Mt. Adams because it's really a big one. He does air-to-ground communication. He's too old now to do much stuff out in the field. He does, just not for as long as the younger guys.
Glad your library was spared; smokers really need to be so extra-careful during fire season.
Take care,
