Come out with your hands up

It was just one of those lazy days here in paradise … the type where all I want to do is kick back in my hammock, read a book and enjoy listening to the birds chirping their heads off in trees.

The day started out great because it was a beautiful sunny day … but it started to turn sour when I took my “doggie from hell” (DFH) to the park for a walk.  To my surprise my little doggie was not in a mood to go gently for a walk… instead without my knowledge or consent he was out to tear someone a new a hole.

We made it all the way to the end of the park when a couple with a dog popped their head out from behind a solid wooden gate.  Well you guessed it DFH attacked their pit bull that was coming right at me. I swear the dog looked like it was on steroids because the entire dog consisted of muscle and a huge head and teeth!   My little dog didn’t draw blood when it attacked it when it came at me… or even come close to hurting their pit bull but the couple was really shook up and cussed me out... I apologized my little friggen head off to them for his horrible  behavior for trying to protect me from their pit bull but there was no blowing smoke up their butts. They were not going for it. So I slithered away back the way I came towards home.  It was wrong for my dog to attack their over grown monster but what could I do… the deed was done?

Can we spell law suit?

When we got home I decided to mellow out my brain by thinking happy positive thoughts that maybe I won't get sued because those people don't know where I live… Then the phone rang. (Please note:  I do not have caller ID so I don't know who is calling.... hummm... maybe I should get caller ID ... duh????)  First I did not want to answer it because I was still in shock that my dog felt it was okay behavior to attack another dog. Then I thought what the heck I will answer the phone because maybe it will be someone that will put a smile on my face.

Wrong!

It was my next door neighbor calling to tell me to look out front… beyond my front gate. I opened my garage door and there stood my next door neighbor in my driveway and about 5 squad cars, 2 police investigation vans, and 3 or 4 motorcycle cops all lined up and down the street. My first ADHD thought was party time… and then in an instant I thought "oh no the police are going to be mean to me” so I closed the garage door and went back in my house.

Then the phone rang again and my neighbor asked me to step outside for a moment. Hummm…. I said “okay” and stashed my “doggie from hell” in the upstairs closet… Like I said my doggie didn’t draw blood when he attacked that huge pit bull in the park so I could not see him being arrested for protecting me from monsters? (All he did was scare the ca-ca out of its owners... he can’t go to doggie jail for that or could he?)

I walked out of the house feeling like a dead man walking… because I thought for sure the cops found where I lived and were out to get my dog for attacking another dog.

(another note… our city was ranked fourth in the best place to live (http://www.ocregister.com/articles/irvine-city-magazine-2093468-average-portola ) and I think it got its rating in part  because in this city the cops always blow stuff out of proportion and come out in full force if any one calls them... it seems to me the police  always over exaggerate problems  so how did I know what they were up too?)

Any way… I had to play it cool with the mobile police department parked up and down our street…  Therefore, the only thing I could think of to say to the couple of dozen cops in my front yard was “WHATZ UP GUYS?”…  I tried to sound just as innocent as I could be because I was afraid they were looking for my attack dog … Then I held my breath…. I wanted to plug my ears when they answered my question… but then I thought… I’ve got to face this like a woman and not act like a sniveling little “worm of the dust”.

That is when a miracle happened…  The cops told me there have been robberies in my neighborhood and one had taken place down the street. Oh “thank God” I thought as I was instructed to go back in my house and lock all my doors and close all my windows. I know that is terrible of me to think that thought … but I thought my dog’s life was at stake here people.

Get this ladies…  I asked one of the cops what type of car were the burglars driving and one of the police officers told me that these days burglars go out and rent cars just to rob houses and when they are done with their rein of terror they turn them back in.  And did you know that if the burglar’s hands are dry that they won’t leave any finger prints.  On the crime shows the bad guys always leave finger prints so this was a new one to me. Have you girls heard of any thing like this?

The Moral of this story is this…

Just because ca-ca happens in the morning does not mean it will continue to pile up all day long! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

How is life treating you today dear cyber sisters?

LOL! I couldn't believe he let my daughter put a necklace and glasses on him. We all laughed our heads off when she showed us the pics she had taken of him and I knew he'd make a great siggy.
