Well, it's a surprisingly quiet morning here at work, so I thought I'd do something really useful with my time and check in here. I'll have to do some reading to catch up on posts but am hoping that everyone is doing pretty well.
We are finally having some really nice weather here although it's still pretty windy most days. I've been able to get out into the yard and clean up a bit, but it's just a drop in the bucket. There are so many things that grow really fast and thickly here but, unfortunately, they are not things I want in my yard. :( So my big challenge each year is to get that stuff out. My goal then is to get areas cleaned up enough and organized so that, hopefully, I won't have to go through so much of that the next year. I've made a little headway but it takes so long. I don't know if I'll ever have a nice looking yard.
My son will be here next Monday and I am so looking forward to that. Then at the end of that week, I will be going to a Writers' Conference in Portland to attend some workshops and, hopefully, get a chance to present my little Alvin book to a couple of people who handle children's books. I am doing this after much badgering by Rain, so if one of them likes the story and wants to do something with it, she gets all the credit.
My daughter's 10th year reunion was last week-end. She'd been more or less in charge of it and was so nervous about it, but it was great. People were coming up and saying they didn't want to wait another 10 years and could the committee plan another one for 5 years. She's glad that's over, though. It's taken up a lot of both her time and emotional energy for the past year.
Not much else new here and it's almost lunchtime, so I'd better go. I don't mind frittering away my work time, but I NEVER miss lunch!
I hope you all are having a good week.
