Dh saw the cardiologist yesterday
| Thu, 07-24-2008 - 8:29pm |
He got good news. Nothing wrong with his heart but a small electrical problem that is probably just because of his age. He upped his chlorestrol meds and suggested when he sees our GP tomorrow that he change his BP meds to get that under better control. Also suggested he get on the treadmill for at least 20 minutes three times a week.
So today he got on the treadmill and darn it he didn't quilt me into getting on it again too. We both feel a lot better when we do so maybe this time we will do a better job of sticking with it.
He will see the cardiologist in one year for a check up.
Now we just wait for Dd to have that baby next month!!
HUGS to all

Two days and counting LOL. Exercise is something that is just so hard to keep up when you just hate to do it.

Good news for DH! Also good news about starting up on the treadmill - good luck w/staying w/it - at least for me that seems to be the hard part.
DH has had a stationary bike & Nordic Trak set up for FOREVER - even had a rowing machine for awhile many moons ago which we finally discarded after we moved here. Do they ever get used? - well no - except when S18 gets on an exercise kick in addition to his weightlifting. Every once in a great while DH gets a wild hair that it's time - but it lasts about 3 days if that long. He bought himself a really nice mountain bike, which is still basically brand new except for the fact that it's been stored in 110+ heat for several years... Almost like clockwork he seems to think about starting to walk or ride his bike just about the time the temperature around here rises to above the triple digit mark - not a good time! Especially as all his "numbers" are still rising it seems. Myself I was really hoping to make exercise part of my routine the whole of last year as part of my not teaching f/t. Didn't happen w/sitting all the time hitting the books for classes, tho when classes were over I did cut out the schedule for morning lap swimming at the public pool - once I START that I think I can stick w/it - at least while not working f/t. Now that I "can't" do anything that involves my back (which is about anything & everything it seems), it's driving me nuts! - & w/the meds I can't seem to really focus on using the downtime to study the math I need to be studying to pass my certification exams.
Another g'baby - how fun is that! Congrats :) & good luck to all!
Hugs right back.

HI Dutch
Jim and
Hi Jo
The harderst part for us is sticking with it as well. We will do really well and then a vacation will come up and when we get back it seems to take us a while to get motivated to start it again. We had an exercise bike for a while that we just never used at all. Finally got rid of it. We got the treadmill about three years ago and actually did use it a lot for an entire year. The last year we have started it and then stopped several times. Trying to do our best to stick with it this time. Have a feeling the planned trip back for the birth of the new grandbaby will mean once again we will have to really work hard to stay motivated to get back to it once we get home.
Hope you are feeling much better soon!!
Love ya
