Earthquake hit my home today here on the southern coast of California but I still do not have instant beach front property ... errr..
“Hey honey do we have beach front property yet?â€
That is the phone call I got from my husband this afternoon just after the earthquake hit. To his dismay and mine.... my answer was "no not yet honey!!!"
Okay I have to admit this earthquake shook me up ladies. First there was a sound like a loud boom... a sound that one makes .... like if one of those huge trees which measure close to 3 feet around ... just bit the dust behind my house. Or in other words this earthquake sounded like a huge jumbo jet just crash behind my home... The sound that hit us before this quake hit us was like nothing I have ever heard before... it was just weird... and I know because I have been through hundreds of earthquakes.
To say the earth shook me off my feet today would be an understatement. The earthquake lasted a little over 30 seconds but what a ride it was… Stuff flew off shelves…my ceiling fans swayed back and forth for minutes afterwards in the house…. Pictures tilted off center on the walls… "Doggie from Hell " and his buddy “Pele†my other fur baby barked their heads off and ran outside. Our cell phones here in California went dead and our land phone line phones went kaput. For a few minutes after this earthquake there was no connection to the outside world... But that was not the worst of it....
Like I said before.... here in southern California the earthquake did not make land break off from the shore line and make some us instant beach front property owners.... errrr.... Boooooo…… Hiiisssssssssss!!! Ha ha ha! I know how can I laugh after going through an earthquake no matter how small?
Okay I will be honest with you all.... I did not want to say any thing to you girls but I have not been feeling to well lately… And today I had an appointment to see my doctor an hour before this earthquake hit us ((hard like we were it’s bull’s eye)). Therefore, no matter how bizarre it sounds to me now at the time the quake struck I remember thinking ... that if the earthquake hits us hard enough I won't have to see the doctor today and I would be spared the agony of pain . I know what your thinking... how childish can I get... ha ha ha! answer... real childish! ha ha ha!
You see every time I see a doctor it causes me pain some where on my body. The doctors are always poking or prodding my body somewhere ... and if that is not painfully enough they start sticking needles in me where ever they can find a spot. And the worst part is that if the doctors can not find an orifice or hole to stick something in it …. then they make one.
I know ... I know ... I know..... How childish can I get thinking an earthquake would spare me such pain .... but if you live in this body then you would think my thoughts are normal ha ha ha!
You see my thoughts really are not that bizarre if you take in consideration that earthquakes in California… no matter how common they might be to Californians…. they still make people act like fish out of water by flipping all over the place trying to get air and then all chaos breaks out in our streets. Yup we all freak out to the max which in turns throws off everyone’s schedules to the point ... that appointments with doctor’s ... like mine today ... have to be put off to another day… As a result no pain today. compliments of an earthquake... ha ha ha! I know I am absolutely nuts! ha ha ha!
Bottom line dear cyber sisters of my heart…. Your HG is still alive and kicking and everyone here in southern California have survived this earthquake.

Lei

Hi Lei
Glad you are ok after the earthquake. It would be scary that is for sure. We heard about it on the news yesterday right after it happenned there.
Hope you feel better soon.

The weirdest thing about this earthquake was the sound. That was totally bizarre to hear that boom and then all hell broke loose. Hummm.... life is getting interesting around here which is a good thing because I was bored! ha ha ha! Now car alarms going off I could of done without and the dogs next door howling their heads off was nerve racking but all and all every thing is good here... yeah! Now if God just could work on my body I would be a happy camper. Email me if you like to talk! I am home and doing nothing but waiting for vacation to come...
Mahalo for answering my posts!

90 aftershocks!
Yet glad you are safe. I remember the sound of the Loma Prieta
earthquake in the San Fran region in 1999. We thought we
were all going to "ma keh die die"!
And if the Big One hits SoCal, for shuaz that Hawaii will
have Da Beeg Tsunami!
