Look out I'm gonna complain...

I'm here & actually all things considered, doing quite well - just feeling a little "useless", bored, & depressed.

I don't have terrible pain - my back just aches (but as my Doc's nurse says "aching is a form of pain") - and that's if I don't do anything, literally... Basically sit - read, watch TV (lots of HBO & movies as can't seem to find much else in the great universe of tvland worth watching) & attempt work on a quilt project. Do manage dinner & laundry, but trying to be good about not doing anything that will strain or stress my back and cause pain - but keep thinking at I could be doing little bits of things like sweeping floors, raking up pine needles, or pulling weeds - not!! Take my muscle relaxants & Advil, go to bed early (tho they're not supposed to make me tired), sleep about 3 hrs at a time (then it's necessary to rearrange at nite) get up & do it again. In & out of the spa about 2-3 times a day (for the wet heat) - lots of dry skin, lots of lotion. I'd love to even just walk I think, but it's too hot to spend any time outside (we're averaging about 109 these days! and even w/keeping the house at just above 80 last months electric bill we received yesterday was a whopper!!). I can't seem to concentrate enuf to use this time to study for my math certification exam (haven't touched that stuff in two months now). My house & yard are a mess. House hasn't been cleaned since the housecleaners last time end of June and w/DH in charge of the yard it doesn't even all get done at one time when he does start (I don't fault him - he's still working his f/t radical hours job & trying to keep up w/his computer tinkering.., & he's very used to me taking care of it). Do have a housecleaning service coming in today to give it a trial - but they don't think they can do it on a regular basis within their two person/two hour minimum $75 rate - which is about as much as I want to pay - and at that I'm leaning toward every other week if I can stand it as I don't have a regular paycheck coming in. At least this afternoon, the house should be clean and hopefully I will finally have an appt set up w/the physical therapist to start w/them 3x/wk for this next month to see if things start improving - then it will be referral to a "pain doc" which finally will mean some tests, etc... to see if they can tell me what's up & what I should or should not be doing to get myself back to some sense of normalcy hopefully w/o constant medication. I feel like it's time to be more proactive - but guess it's a much slower process. Doc told me I should forego my next scheduled weekend w/the g'kids over the 14th-18th since things don't appear to be going as he'd hoped w/my back.

Got a wake-up call to sub at the jr hi, but today have stuff I have to be home for... Probably would have been good to get out & have something else to occupy my brain with!! (not really sure how my back will hold up for an entire day in a classroom - tho I still have pain meds for when I need them!).

S18 did start working a framing job Monday but he also got a summons from the court for the 18th. It appears the farmer is now trying to press a lesser theft charge for the hullabaloo back end of May since the DA wouldn't press class 4 felony charges. S21 has completed his internship in Phoenix and should be home Thursday nite. His Univ. buddies will drive thru here & at least spend the nite the 8th as they all head up to Utah for a river weekend w/another whose family lives up that way. SD25 informed us last week she & SIL are already separated & the plan is to file for divorce before they re-deploy back to Afghanistan in a few weeks so it's final when they get back. The neighbor finally called yesterday about our dog killing her chickens. At least she's being nice about it, but she is down to 3 & we do know it's going on just aren't quite sure what to do about it as DH isn't good about keeping the gates closed & she lets her chickens roam her front yard...

Life goes on...and that IS a good thing!! Sorry for my rambling, just hoping I'd feel better if I put it it words and get it out there I guess. Whoops - the housecleaners got here early - their earlier job cancelled - gotta do the dishes & get them outta the way.

Hi Jo

Well sometimes you just have to complain if you ask me. Life is certainly not going your way lately and since your accident your body has definately not been co-operating and healing up as quickly as you would like.

I know the six weeks I was unable to do much nearly drove me crazy. Dh was good to take care of things in the house but seems he just didn't do it the way I do and I so wanted to just get it done. When you are used to having to do things and then you just can't drive you nuts to watch simple jobs you could do going undone.

I sure hope that they can begin your PT and start getting you back to normal again. Hard when you feel so tired and sore if you just do the smallest chore.

Hang in there and hey you know we are here to complain to any time. This is a good place to dump those complaints and find people who will just give you a hug even a cyber one.

Love ya
