Very guiet board today. So are you all watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies??

They don't start here for another couple of hours but we will watch them. Kinda exciting I think. Love the gymnastics, swimming and diving, and the track and field. I also love the volleyball. Since China is a place I will probably never travel to it will be interesting to learn about Bejing and something about China.

What are your favorites to watch during the summer Olympics?

I just cannot believe it is August and next week Dh and  I will be heading back to DD's to wait for the birth of our third grandchild.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!

HUGS to all

Oh Jan, I love that you are watching them!
We are so crazy that we have several channels
going at the same time LOL!!

Now, you must watch the reruns of the opening
ceremonies...I promise it will just blow you away!
Many of us said...wow how did they do that? and
how did they stay in a PERFECT circle without
any lines? and no way, that is just impossible to do!

Happy watching!

Hugs,

With the stories that are now coming out, about the opening ceremonies, I'm glad I missed them! To have the little girl that "sang" the Chinese national anthem lip sync, because the little girl that actually did the singing "wasn't cute enough" and it was in their "national interest" to do that......sorry, that stinks!

Read this...it is disturbing, too. Poor Yao Ming. Playing through pain because he feels so much pressure to do so. Quite disturbing indeed.

Yes, very disturbing. And now, there are rumors floating around about the Chinese female gymnasts not really being "of age" to compete. There's speculation that some are as young as 10, not 16 like they're supposed to be.

Nothing really surprises me anymore. Do I sound cynical? How'd you like the matter of the girl who "sang" the Chinese anthem?

Well, it is bad to be cynical, BUT.......too many of these little "cover-ups" have been surfacing.
