Roof damage and Dh's elbow.

We had some excitement here on Saturday afternoon. We were watching the Olympics and suddenly we heard a very loud rumble. It lasted less than 30 seconds. Dh thought it was thunder I thought it was an earthquake. The skies  here were blue with storm clouds building to the north of us probably 50 miles away. I went out into our back yard to see if I could tell what had happened and there were concrete tiles from our roof on the ground. Dh got a ladder and got up to take a look at our roof and saw there were two sections where the tile was either lifted up or missing. One as big as five feet!!  Turn out we had a micro burst the somehow got underneath our roof and lifted the tile and slammed it back down causing the damage. The fire department came out to make sure there was no internal damage and to make sure the explosion had not come from inside our attic. Trying to get a roofer to come out today to check it out and find out what it will cost to repair it. We leave tomorrow to go back to Dd's to wait for the birth of her second child!! Thank goodness Ds will be here and to give us an idea what it will cost they will not have to have someone home. With fax and email we hopefully will be able to handle it from long distance

This morning the Dr's office called. Dh had, had an MRI on his elbow because it had been hurting since May when we were back in OH. Turns out he has a partical ligament tear. This will have to wait until we get back from Dds. Dr says he will probably need physical thearpy for it.

Sometimes it seems things just have to pile up and give you lots of problems huh?

Hi Lor

Well we will have to see on the roof. Cannot get anyone out here today so will be a lot of cell phone calls while we are gone. There are three companies coming out to give us their bid on the cost for repair. Depending on what the ductable is on our home owners and if they will pay is something that will require phone calls. Nice timing to be going away with this happenning.OH well thank heavens for cell phones.

Dh will just have to be careful while we are gone. He has the MRI scans and will take them with us so Dd can take a look at them and see what she thinks needs to be done for it.

Will let you know when this little one makes his entrance!!

Love

Geez, Mare, always something at your house, eh? At least you don't have the spectre of rain threatening your roof, do ya? Weird how that little micro-whatever came through and got your house. Remember that little cartoon character who went around with the little dark cloud over his head?

That elbow sounds owie! Good thing he's got Nurse Wifely nearby! Heh, heh...

Wow, Mare, that micro burst must have been scary! I'm glad there wasn't more damage. Those things can really be destructive.

I'm sorry to hear about dh's elbow, and hope the PT helps.

Have a great trip, and let us know when your sweet little dgs arrives!

Hi Red

It is our monsoon season so there are chances of rain but the people that have looked at it so far say there is no danger of leaking. I sure hope not as we are away from home now and in OH
