Well - we got the news . . Ds will be leaving on November 18th for NC . . . then overseas in February (for more training) and then end of March - Afghanistan to begin a one-year stint.  I am so busy trying to keep the "family" afloat that I haven't had time to process any of this myself.  Everyone will be here this afternoon to celebrate my dh's birthday - ds & dd planned the whole thing . . . I am DETERMINED to keep everything "normal" . . to build on the memory bank we will all need to 'withdraw' from in the months ahead.  I am so proud of my tall son who looks so very much like his dad . . . why doesn't being a Mom get any easier as they get older ??  I guess the Once a Mom, Always a Mom is sooooo true!!!  Keep us & me in your prayers . . . I need positive reinforcement girls . . . not the "pity party" stuff . . . don't have the time or patience for that (if ya know what I mean).  Take care and have a wonderful Sunday!!  Oh btw - my last day at work is this Thursday - have decided the 100 mile roundtrip commute is too much . . so I'll be taking some time off . . God's timing is always perfect . . . I gave notice a month ago and this news pops up 2 weeks later . . . hmmmm . . coincidence?? I think not!!!  But then that's a whole nother post :)  Love ya all - mc :)

Hi MC

Your taking some time away from work is perfect right now to build those memories that you are going to need for the year that streaches ahead of you and your family. I will indeed keep you son in my prayers for a safe return home. You

a difficult time, no doubt

organize care packages

send cards and letters

use email and Skype if you can to keep in touch

it does not get any easier when they grow up

someone once said to me :" once you become a mom, part of you is always someplace else"

good luck and God bless

hugs

Good idea Dutch! Those care packages are great and I know they always share with those that don't get any.
