Are you getting sick of the political commercials yet? Do you believe what they say or do you wonder to yourself how truthful they are?

I agree it's very important to know the issues. Funny you ask where Spain is. I wonder how many adults can place it on a world map along with Iran, Iraq and Isreal. It's completely shocking to know that people had no idea that Georgia was the name of a country. I can't help but wonder what they thought as they had watched the news-that Russia had invaded a southern state in the USA?!

I have a suggestion for you all - - - TURN OFF your tvs. Read your news. The commercials are terrible, and campaign management (both sides) will use any tactic to get your attention. They are just hoping Americans are stupid enough to believe everything they hear, even if it's out of context.

What I hate particularly is listening to all the Oregon campaign crapola. We are in the Portland media market and that's about all we get. One campaign in particular, for a senate seat, is particularly smear-y. It's revolting.

I just read my news. It's better for my nerves. I can put it down or skim/skip. It's my choice...then I'm not bombarded by the smeary commercials.

I agree...sad state of affairs when so few people know world geography..even sadder when it is elected leaders/candidates...

we watched the Tonight show where adults could not find Alaska on a map!!

I have traveled to Spain, Ireland, Germany and Mexico. I speak Spanish and a smattering of other languages. I keep in touch with people in Germany, England, El salvador and Australia. I like getting the different perspectives

One of my former students worked in the US Embassy in Slovakia...(we note here "Czechoslovakia" no longer exists)

I was online today reading the newspaper in Spain to see what their reaction was

interesting.....
