or parents..or aunts and uncles..of young children...
here are some of the things we have done lately:
FREE FUN: I promised my dgds, 2 and 4, a "Summer Playground tour"...we visited 6 different county playgrounds over the summer..some at parks, some at schools..they LOVED IT! DGD,4, is already making plans for next summer's "tour" (one playground, at my old school my dd, Bob and I actually helped build) and of course I took photos at each
Speaking of photos..dgd 4 wanted to go with us to the Outer Banks last month but couldn't..so I brought along one of their toys from our house (a stuffed blue penguin."Pablo", from the "Backyardigans) and took his picture whever we went...and each night emailed them to dil who showed them to the girls before bed..they LOVED it...made them laugh (Pablo and the bowl of hushpuppies, Pablo in the pool)
after we got back I made a photo book on Shutterfly of Pablo's trip, they like to look at it
try this..maybe you can see it

(dd went to CA and brought a Pablo too..she continued his adventures)
and a neat gift idea: a very nice book with the child's picture in it..very well done

and their customer service was awesome!
dgd 4 loved her book
ok..I just wanted to share some happy stuff..I needed a break from elections/economy/illnesses/deaths
also : NO BABY TURTLES!!

Hi Dutch
Sounds like some fun time with your dgc and some great ideas for those that have their grandchild close by and can spend time with them.
So nice to hear some good happy news.
Darn those turtles I would think they would be born soon.
Love ya
