Seasons changing...

How are you all doing with the time/season change? It is still lovely here in WA, even though it's getting chilly! I'm afraid my tomatoes are not going to ripen. (Fried green tomatoes, anyone?)
I know many people have trouble with the darkness encroaching upon our days. I kind of look forward to it, maybe because I'm a nester. But, I have to work to stay busy. I could hibernate easily, gain weight, blah, blah, blah...
I have thoroughly enjoyed this summer and hate to see it end, but it does mean the beginning of seasonal changes like cooking differently, making things for the upcoming holidays.
How does the change affect you?

Oh, I wish our seasons in Hawaii would change.

Hi Red
Seasonal changes are welcome here it means the HOT summer is almost over and soon we will be enjoying the lovely weather that fall and winter bring to AZ. We don't see the leaves change here in this part of AZ although the trees do drop their leaves usually in late Nov to early Dec.
Since we see so much sunshine here the shorter days are not so bad. I do hate though when it is dark by 6pm.
I am a Spring and Summer person more I think.
I personally hate to see summer ending. I love the long days with the sun shining well into evening. I always feel so "trapped" when most of the days are spent in the dark.

Walking the children along the Tow Path in August I noticed the trees beginning to change...already. As for me...Autumn is my favorite time of year. The hot humid summer is behind us and my favorite holidays lay ahead. While not totally a hibernating person I do love the quiet colder weather brings to the neighborhood. Too cold for the area college kids to party all night and disruptive neighbors are forced indoors...I can sleep!
As for how it affects me...no different than any other season. Diminshed light is not a problem as it is for some. I actually enjoy it.
I hated to see the summer end.
