The IMPOSSIBLE happened...well, nearly!!

About 2 weeks ago I got a strange message on my mobile phone:  “Hi Cen, this is Lee, I am back in the islands and we need to get together big time…”    I had to listen to the message 3 times because I could not recall a Lee that needed to come back to Hawaii, or because I meet a lot of people, I could have forgotten what someone told me, as I did just that before LOL.

Soooooo… I finally called back the number, and Lo and Behold, it was my BFF best friend forever, that I have not seen since we were together in Germany 20 years ago.  WOOT! Like me, she is originally from Hawaii and our first husbands were stationed together.  I just about fell on the floor screaming and I KNOW she did the same on the other side of the line!  We tried to keep in contact after Germany, but after a few years we lost contact.

Anyway, after living away from Hawaii for 24 years total, she decided to move back because her only daughter and grandson had moved a few hours away, and she was getting divorced from her FOURTH husband.  Yaaaaaaa, this still-beautiful lady keeps them for only 6 or 7  years at a time LOL.  Boy, did I give her an earful about that!!

So….. how did Lee know how to contact me???  This in itself is a miracle, a one in a billion chance, but I know God has a plan and that we don’t always know we are part of it, until later LOL!

Well, she had only been back a few days and on that fateful Saturday she was sitting in her Army Reserve duty session and she stared at her commanding colonel for a long time.  What are the chances, she thought, and she only has to report one Saturday a month.  He looked vaguely familiar to her, lots of gray hair tho.  Eventually she went up to him and said, “are you Kalani Miller, used to be married to my best friend in Germany?    He could NOT remember her, even after she talked about our kids, coming to our house all the time, our crazy cars, and the things we used to do…then voila!...he remembered!  He was so floored and so tickled…he gave her my cell number and the rest is history.

OMGosh, since then we have been calling each other and going out, gotta make up for 20 years right, LOL!!  Greg said, uh oh, trouble now, because she found an apartment not far from us and we will be partners in crime.  He is so right, LOL!  Of course, he is just kidding and he loves that we have reunited.

As for her future romances, she vows not to get married for a fifth time, just wants to have good-time charlies.  I also told her that I will contact the three other Hawaiians who were with us in Germany, but are now back here; we will have quite a reunion!  I am still on a high!!

Lor, thanks! Wait til she sees my kids; Levin was just 11 at the time
and now he will be 32. When I went to the Milwaukee meet and hooked up
with Janet, it was sort of the same thing, but this reconnect beats all!

Talk about fate! They say circles are never ending. When friends lose contact for whatever reason the circle becomes broken. Yours has now become whole once again. Have fun catching up:)
