Update on Dgs today
20
Sat, 09-27-2008 - 4:55pm

I talked to Dd today on the phone she is so very tired and was getting out of the hospital for a while to get some lunch. The nurses were there with dgs so she didn't have to worry about him.

Five times during the night his heart was racing again from about midnight until 5 AM. They are adjusting the medication and when  I talked to her about noon her time he had not had it happen again since 5AM. The Dr told her this morning it might take a while to get the right medication and the right dosage. He cannot go home from the hospital until it has been 48 hours without the heart racing. So maybe on Monday or could be a week before he can go home just depends on getting everything working the right way. They are so lucky to have caught this early and prevented any damage to the heart.

Thanks again ladies for all your support and prayers during this tough time. Hard to be a grandma that lives so far away in times like this. If the baby has to stay in the hospital for a week I will probably go back and help with the baby and her almost two year old to give both Dd and her Dh another pair of hand to help get things done.

Mare,

This is the first I have heard. Adding my prayers to the others.

So very difficult to be far away in times like this.

Hugs,

Rain

Mare, sorry I missed being here for a few days. Wow! Prayers for dgs and your whole family. This must be so scary for all of you, but as you said, good it was caught early.

Hi Lor

Yes a very big worry for us. Harder when you are so far away. Dd got her dh to stay at the hospital last night so she could go home and get a good nights sleep. She says she can already tell a big differnce in the baby he is much more calm and sleeping a lot better now.

Love ya

Hi Rain

Thanks for the prayers. This just started on Friday afternoon. Dd says he is doing so much better now and can tell there is a difference in the way he feels and behaves.

Hi Jan

Yes it sure has been a very scary time. He is responding well to the medication now and maybe can go home today but hopefully by tomorrow. Depends on how the night went for him. Dd will call later this morning to give us another update.

Hope you enjoyed your trip Jan.

Love ya
