Keep or give up?

There was a question in the local newspaper, last weekend that made me think. With the economy the way it is, what could you give up and what could you not give up, to save some money? One said she'd move to a smaller apartment, but couldn't give up her continuing education. Another could give up her spur of the moment travels, but couldn't give up her pedicures. Still another could give up her Starbucks, but won't give up her wine.
I would have a lot of trouble giving up my Friday dinner out. It's not expensive, just a meal at the local family restaurant, but I don't have to cook it or clean up after. I could easily give up a couple of magazine subscriptions. There's so much info available online, that I really don't need more papers cluttering up the place. I generate enough clutter by myself! LOL
What could you not give up and what would you have no trouble doing away with, if needed, to make ends meet?

I could give up cable tv....but I could not give up my morning newspaper.
That's about all I can think of. I've already given up quite a bit. We've downsized our home. No internet at home, we have only one car; I bike. We rarely go out to eat anymore. I haven't bought new clothes in forever. I've been needing some sweaters, but I think I may look at the thrift store before I go buy any new ones.
Good question, Jan!
Let's see - good question - now my answers -
Keep - our Friday night dates - dh & I go out to dinner and relax/catch up on the week; entertaining the kids/grandkids after church on Sunday for swim & late lunch/early dinner -
Well Jan, I have already gave up buying clothes except at the thrift store. I reduced my electric billto 59.00 last month. Eating out is limited to bdays , anniversaries etc. Sonic has half price on drinks from 2-4 everyday half price. The two yougest like the slushies.and we can skip the hamburgers.
