I went and got mine yesterday... I get one every year, because when I get sick I often get bronchitis and that is so not fun!

I found that my arm ached all night this time... could be partly due to my frozen shoulder thing, but also to the shot.

in my town we do not have to pay for our shots, I would get one even if I had to pay though.

So tell us do you get a shot each year , and if so do you find it makes a difference?

Hi Lor! Well, I used to get them each and every year when I worked for the health dept. and got them for free. I haven't had one ever since...that's been 6 years, I guess. Have been pushing the envelope, I guess. I should get one and not be such a cheapskate risk-taker. But, ya know? I never get sick! Last year Frank got so deathly sick with the flu and I didn't get it. I may have used up my luck.

Hi Lor

No I don't get a flu shot. But living here in the sunny desert southwest the Dr doesn't reccomend them until you are past the age of 65 or know that you have problems with your immune system. Flu is not easily spread here. In the winter we are outside more than we are in the summer.

Since I'm dealing with health issues, I have to get a flu shot every year. I've been getting them for quite a while, and haven't had the flu in a long time. I also make sure to wash my hands often, and when I go grocery shopping, I wipe down the cart handle, just to be sure.

Here, they strongly suggest that everyone over the age of 2 get a shot. It can get to epidemic levels, here, especially among school children.

NO, I no longer get Flu shots, the doctor doesn't even bother to ask. A few years back a nurse gave my shot to low in my arm and I ended up with physical therapy on that arm for 3 months.
