Okay, I have to do something

The other night DH and I were sitting at the table playing cribbage, and I told him I didn't feel right, so was going to go lie down for a bit. This was about 6 p.m.

Well, as I lay there, I decided to try and see what my pulse was like. Seemed like it was racing and slightly erratic. Well I told DH that, and he got out his BP machine thing.  -- Now, note: I have NEVER had any medical conditions concerning my heart; my BP is ALWAYS around 118-12/78-80. I'm not coming down with anything; I'm healthy as a horse. His BP machine measured 190/113!

I simply have a terrible work environment.

He swept me off to the ER. I was trying to convince him that I was only dehydrated. (This was my diagnosis once before about 7 yrs ago when almost the same thing happened.) He wasn't listening. By the time I got to the triage nurse, it was down to 150/113.

The nurse put a wristband on me and told me to wait in the waiting room. There, I did my best selling pitch to DH to take me home, that I promised to call my dr. first thing in the a.m. He gave in.

So yesterday morning I called her and they took me right in. The BP was 149/95...still quite elevated for me. She gave me an EKG which was perfect-o. All my rhythms and such sounded fine. So....she turns to me and says, "Are you still having trouble with that one lady in the office?"

So....I have some work to do. Now is no time in this area to be looking for a job. I have a few options. I can move my work station to an empty office and away from her. (That would just start lots of gossip, I know. Plus, a double-edged sword, I won't be able to hear her be rude to people...nothing I can do anything about...she's not EVER going to change...and they won't fire her.)

It's been nice to write this...maybe I should start a gripe journal, if that would help. I wish I could turn off my frustrations as soon as I get home, but I can't, and that is having a negative effect on my health.

If any of you have any advice, I'm all ears!

Hugs,

Thanks Doreen! I appreciate that. If I wrote here every time I felt frustrated or angry, I'd probably crash the server, but it's nice to know you don't mind my occasional vent.

Red, come on, it's obvious you can not work around a lady that affects your health.

I know, Gabby...I am going to speak to the boss-man about moving my workstation asap. She is going on vaca for a week, so that is not a good week to move, but the week after will be.

Thanks for the support.

Hi Red

Well gossip or health problems? If there is nothing you can do about this woman and if she is rude to people and you cannot do anything about that either then why sit out where you have to listen to it? You can always just say you needed a office of your own a quieter place to work.

Oh you better know I vent to poor Frank all the time. I'm sure he gets tired of it.

It's not only rudeness with this lady, but she is stubborn and insubordinate and uncooperative

HI Red

Well I sure your Dh does get a bit tired of it but hey at least he is there to listen sometimes. Sounds like a situaion that is never going to change and so seems the best idea here is to find a job that will not cause so much stess in your life.

Good luck

Love ya

Red, Unless there is a way you can accept this woman... and I doubt there is then I say you should think of your health and what
