My Husband's Death
14
Fri, 11-21-2008 - 9:02am

I haven't been around in a while, but I did want to let those of you who know me that my dear husband, Don, died suddenly and unexpectedly of a massive heart attack late last night. Some of his family arrived at the hospital shortly after his death which helped me get through that. They will also be helping me with what is to come since I'm very unfamiliar with what needs to be done in Canada since I'm an American. We live close to the border, since he's a Canadian, and were in Canada when this happened. One of my daughters is on her way from Oregon and will be here shortly. My son who is in the Navy will be arriving as soon as the powers that be allow. My other children will be here as soon as they can. I don't know what the day is going to bring, but I wanted to share with you all where life has suddenly taken me.

I'm not able to come back really yet, but I wanted to tell all of you thank you so very much. There is still so much to do since this was so unexpected and unplanned for in addition to the grieving. I have an angel in my 25yo dd right now. Two of my ds's came and spent a week with us. My dd is here until towards the end of December to help me out. I quite literally do not know what I would be doing without her right now to take care of the financial issues which are as bad as they can possibly be with me being disabled. I appreciate more than I can say the support that comes to me from all of you here. You can all count yourselves on my list as angels, truly. Again, thank you.

Gabby- Unfortunately, the immigration process was never completed, loss upon loss. I certainly wish that I was able to make that move on my own, but I can't. Although Canada may not be my native country, it is the country of my heart.
