I've lot my enthusiasm, my energy, my motivation, gained 15 lbs.(this hasn't happened for many, many years....might be med. related)....I cannot get myself to move:( Lost my job a few months ago, my life has spiraled downhill since then!! Also am scheduled for surgery on 12/15/2008, which I do not want to have:( This afternoon, I walked @ 2-3 miles(usually, I workout 5-6 times/week).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Donna

Dutch, thank you for your response. I'm sorry you've had to deal w/some "trials and tribulations, as well!! Every year seems to bring one more thing to contend w/unfortunately:( For the last 3 yrs., it was the downhill spiral of my former apt. complex(sold to residents' of CA, I live in Idaho). Absentee owners tend to neglect proper maintenance(also became a smoking facility:(!!

HI Donna

I understand about not wanting to take any medication for depression. Get out when you can and enjoy those walks. Seeing life around you and getting outside always seems to brighten a mood.

Good luck with all you have to deal with.

((((HUGS))))

Well I imagine it is cold there but doing anything that would get you outside and with other people often helps. Sunlight can also make a difference. Recommend doing things for yourself that make you feel good and also finding some things to do for others can help you feel better yourself.

Talk to some friends and family as much as you can as they can be great support vehicles. Nothing can perk a person up than to build a great relationship with the opposite sex. God Bless

Thank you,gentlejohn1 for your suggestions. I've actually, been walking for the last three days @ 3miles each day, and plan to take a hike w/a friend this afternoon. It's not that cold here. The temperatures have been mild....in the 50's.

Thanks, Mary for your hugs and support. Getting out does help. On my walk yesterday, I "ran into" an acquaintance of mine from the running group w/which I used to run. Also saw the beginning and ending of a rainbow:) Today, I made my bed, washed my dishes, swept the kitchen floor, and plan to take a hike w/a friend.Take care and thanks again, Donna.

I dont know how the weather is your way.But it does have lots to do with how we feel.If there's no sun.I dont feel like doing a thing.I feel sad like too.Got no gumption.

When there is sunshine.I do perk up.Still dont want to do any thing. But I've gotten lazy
