Boy this Christmas is the pits

Ladies now it is getting scary out there in the real world. Last Christmas everyone was making money and everyone was so happy and just being around people was a joy. This year William and I walked into Toy's R Us to pick up a b-day present and the store was half empty or close to empty. The parking lot was not even close to being half full. We first thought maybe there is sale going on for toys this Christmas somewhere else and that is why the parking lot was empty in the height of Christmas shopping.

But nooo... everyone is losing their job and defaulting on their mortgage and life as we knew it is now in the trash can. And the worst part there are no new jobs for people to get. Now am I the only person on this website that is feeling this depression this Christmas?

I am depressed this Christmas are you? And I think matters are only going to get worst in the future... How are you guys handling this down turn? Me well not good... I had to tell my family members not to buy us stuff this year because I knew just for them to pay their mortgage was a miracle.

Help am I the only one feeling the pain this holiday season or what? Maybe I need to refill my valium prescription and what I am seeing in the real world is not happening?

How is life treating you guys?

Aloha,

Lei

Lei,

You don't want to know. With the news and hearing what is going on, enough to depress anyone. Add the problems some of us

Not depressed, but we always think twice about
any purchases we make, as who knows what will
happen in 2009.

Trying to teach our youngest kid about budgeting.

Hi Lei

Well things are not going well this year for a lot of people that is for sure. However I agree with Rain here celebrate the season for the reason it started in the first place.

I am not the type of person to really get depressed. Life is pretty good for me actually aside from the water damage we had in our home. It will all be taken care of after the first of the year so not going to worry about that now. We have tighten our belts a bit here and we are a lot more careful about how we spend. We will have our oldest dgs here this year for Christmas so it should be a fun time always more fun though the eyes of a child.

The economy will turn around it might take some time but things will get better as they always do. Life goes on.

I was thinking about that too that it teaches kids about budgeting... I hope people who are way over in debt in credit cards and who have been living way beyond their means learn something by going through this. But I don't know William is a CPA and some

I guess I am in shock as to how everything in the world changed from good to bad in split second or something. Did not see this coming... I like to see people happy outside my front door and now it feel like there is an invisible undertow out there waiting to get me. Okay what did I do with my Prozac!

Glad to hear all is well with you Mary! William and I are in good shape too but it does not make me feel any better... Maybe I just want to be depressed for some reason?

Aloha,

Lei

I can't say that I'm depressed but it has changed my plans considerably.

Lei the economy is in the toilet that's for sure. How could it not be with an endless war raging draining our countrie's coffers, manufacturing going overseas and paying for immigrants who only come here to work

I try to look on the bright side - if unemployment is 6% then employment is 94!
