Ladies now it is getting scary out there in the real world. Last Christmas everyone was making money and everyone was so happy and just being around people was a joy. This year William and I walked into Toy's R Us to pick up a b-day present and the store was half empty or close to empty. The parking lot was not even close to being half full. We first thought maybe there is sale going on for toys this Christmas somewhere else and that is why the parking lot was empty in the height of Christmas shopping.

But nooo... everyone is losing their job and defaulting on their mortgage and life as we knew it is now in the trash can. And the worst part there are no new jobs for people to get. Now am I the only person on this website that is feeling this depression this Christmas?

I am depressed this Christmas are you? And I think matters are only going to get worst in the future... How are you guys handling this down turn? Me well not good... I had to tell my family members not to buy us stuff this year because I knew just for them to pay their mortgage was a miracle.

Help am I the only one feeling the pain this holiday season or what? Maybe I need to refill my valium prescription and what I am seeing in the real world is not happening?

How is life treating you guys?

Aloha,

Lei

We went shopping one Saturday for Toys for Tots and the store seemed pretty thin but then the next week we went out again and saw a Target on our east side of town that looked like it had no parking spaces. My hubby's HR dept sent out a request that people attempt to take holiday pay before the new year and he had an upper boss state at a meeting that the company was "on sound footing" so we're expecting them to talk lay-offs again probably by the new year. (Anytime a company says stuff all around 'not gonna lay people off' I figure they're looking at it.) We tried to make it Christmassy for our grandchildren by mailing all of their packages and the spending money to arrive by Thanksgiving so they would be able to go out and shop for their little ones with cash. But we don't know if they needed to use the funds for rent or car payment. So we have to hope that the candidate for Hope will help this country get back on its feet. As one talking head mentioned this weekend, "Well he is one who can chew gum and walk at the same time." So we are leerily hopeful but are attempting no extravaganzas. Hugs, B

You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.The world is scarey out there in the real world.

That's partly why I am the way I am,Agoraphobic.

I am always more depressed come Thanksgiving to after the first of the new year.
