It's beginning to look like Christmas

We finally got the outside lights up on our house. Seems we were the only house on our block that hadn't gotten that done. Today we will get the rest of the furniture that is still sitting away from the walls and in the middle of the room put back and put up our Christmas tree. Our oldest Dgs will be here in a week to have Christmas with us and his Dad. I still haven't finished my shopping but that is pretty normal for me. Will get that done before the week is over.

We have the estimate of what it will cost the insurance company to repair the damage done to our house by the water from my washer. The contractor will start the work after the holidays. Going to take them probably three weeks to get it all done. The biggest job will be removing and replacing my hardwood floors. Then replacing some padding under the bedroom carpets and retacking it down. Cleaning the carpets and steam cleaning my tile floors. Painting the inside of the house. Going to be mess for a while but once done it should all look good again.

So for now we just get back to as "normal" as we can and wait until after the New Year for it all to be done.

It is cooler here in the Southwest which is kind of nice to have in Dec. Hope those that live where the snow and ice are causing problems are all safe and warm.

Have a good Sunday all!!

It's good the work can wait until after the holidays. Just try to relax and enjoy your Christmas, forget about the work ahead.

Hi Rj
We had really not planned on cutting back on our decorations too much because we didn't get to put them up at all last year. Well seems my plans for Christmas include remodels for the last two years. LOL
Love ya

Hi Dutch
We are getting there with the holiday. The cooler weather tends to make us all a bit cranky we are so spoiled with the sunshine we normally have. Shopping is almost done house decorated inside and out. This year less is more.

Glad you are home!!
