We went down to see my dgd's first Christmas concert. Wow I was soooo impressed! I have been to many Christmas concerts but never one like this!
At the start the Principal came up to the front and made a comment how when asked if they could do a concert she thought oh yeah half an hour of each class doing a quick skit and maybe a song or two... but never in her wildest dreams did she expect it to be as wonderful as it was.
Well I thought of course she would say that almost expected of her, so I was really expecting the same.
Now for a small school with maybe 30 or so kids the concert was anything but the traditional type. It was honestly like a Broadway show.
One woman produced it as well as made all of the costumes... and every kid in the school participated and wow when they sang it sounded like a real choir.
The play they put on was absolutely the best I have ever seen... and I doubt I will ever see another as well done as that.
Dgd was a bit distracted by her best friend and so she missed a few moves, as did others, but that is ok it just added to the pleasure. I am so very glad that my dh video'd the whole play... as my dgd said he was going to video it, but he got all of about 3 minutes worth. Some days it makes me wonder what he is thinking there... he said well he couldn't see my dgd all the time and so didn't bother. Oh well I have a copy and am glad for that!
We also went to watch her first performance in ballet... so cute! There were only about 5 girls but they did such a cute performance.
As far as that went I have to say that we had such a great time, but dh and myself now have nasty sore throats, and chest colds. I am feeling so lousy, want to lay in bed all day, but I have baking I must get done, so not going to do that. Dh had to go get the Christmas tree, so he is out in that mega cold temps with this virus he has. I am sure that will not do him any good, but he is stubborn and wont give in to me and get a fake Christmas tree.
Anyhow I have stalled long enough, time to go get busy!
Have a wonderful day all!
Hugs,

HI Lor
I am so glad you dh got the performance all on video. Have no idea what you sil was thinking but maybe to busy watching to catch it all on camera. The woman that help the school put on this play must love children and enjoy working with them to be able to get such a good performance out of them.
I remember my Dd first ballet recital. It was just so adorable all those little girls dressed up in their costumes.
Sorry to hear you and your dh both are not feeling well. A chest cold this time of year is something you just don't need to have. Too much to get done and time running out on you. Don't wear yourself out to much or you will find it will put you to bed feeling even worse.
Feel better soon!!
Thanks Gabby!
nope actually we didnt get the snow, down island did but we were spared... we just got the bitter cold temps, and more of the same to come!
Hugs,
Thanks Mare!

I am wondering if this is not just another phase of a virus going through my body because I have been fighting for about a month several other things, but they seem to have gottten better, just the chest and head thing now.
ah,,isn't that interesting!
our bodies are such complex machines
and one thing impacts another
I remember in college when my knee swelled and the dr said it was because my tonsils were infected! I thought he was nuts..turns out when the tonsils are "full", infection spreads thru lymph system to joints...2 days after college graduation I got my tonsils out!!
I hope you are also taking vitamins etc
in 2005-2006 after 2 surgeries I had a craving for driend apricots, turns out they help tissue heal!
I hope my friend is healing ,she has been sick so much, missed so much school (teaches special ed)
you feel better!!!
hugs
