Christmas is over here comes New Years!!

As usual we took down our Christmas decorations on the 26th inside our house and the outside lights down on Sunday. This is an old habit left over from when dh worked in retail and didn't want to see the decorations after it was over.  We had considered leaving the things up until the new year but since they will be starting the work on our house soon after Jan 1st from the water damage. We figured it was  best just to get it all put away.

Our Dgs had a great time on Christmas day. Santa brought him just what he wanted.  It was so much fun watching the delight and excitement as he opened his presents.  We had bil and sil over for a early dinner and the ham we had this year was a really good one. So we ate to much and just enjoy spending time together. A very nice day.

Dgs left to go home on the Saturday after Christmas. He didn't want to leave but I reminded him another Christmas was waiting for him as Santa had left  few of his presents for him there. He will be back here for spring break next year and will as usual spend the summer here.

I am looking forward to the new year. 2008 was not on of the best years in my life health wise so hoping 2009 will be a good one. The best part of this year was the birth of my youngest dgs. He is such a good baby now and down right adorable( Just ask his grandma) LOL.

We will go over and celebrate New Years Eve with sil and bil at the casino that is close to them. Should be fun and will be nice to get out of the house to just have some fun for a change. I don't do resolutions for the new year but I hope to do a better job of keeping myself healthy.

Wishing you all a healthy, happy New Year!!

Our decorations were easy to take down, since we didn't put anything up at all.....another story for another time....still not in a mood to talk about it.

I ran into the Hallmark the other day, and to Joann's ....they already had the Valentine's stuff up....ugh!

I hope 2009 is better for your bod, too, Mare....and for ALL of us! I think it will be.

We don't take down our decorations until Jan 6 or 7. It's tradition for both dh and me, as both of our moms were born on Jan 5 (but different years). Both of us grew up with leaving things decorated until after their birthdays. While both moms are now gone, we maintain the tradition. It also helps that we don't usually get the tree up until a day or two before Christmas. This year it was Christmas eve! Good thing it's a 3' tree that I keep decorated and store in a plastic bag, all set to go. LOL

No kids, here, so it was a quiet day at home for us.

Jan I must say you do know how to celebrate the New Year!! Well if you are a bit sleepy on New Years Eve it should not last to long at least it doesn't with me. Anyway you can enjoy New Years Day and enjoy eating whatever you want.

I know today is not an easy day as you prep for tomorrow. Hope you have a lot of good reading material stored in the bathroom. Been there done that my friend today and tonight are the hardest part of this whole procedure. Tomorrow is will be over before you know it.

Love

Hi MC

I know this must be a very hard time for you to have your Ds getting ready to be deployed. I remember the look on my Mom's face when my youngest brother was getting ready to head over to Vietnam. I will be keeping him in my prayers while he is over there.

Doesn't seem possible it has been that long since you lost your Ds father. How very lucky you are to have found another man that loves you so much and your children as well.

Sending ((HUGS)) for the next few day.
