Christmas is over here comes New Years!!
26

As usual we took down our Christmas decorations on the 26th inside our house and the outside lights down on Sunday. This is an old habit left over from when dh worked in retail and didn't want to see the decorations after it was over.  We had considered leaving the things up until the new year but since they will be starting the work on our house soon after Jan 1st from the water damage. We figured it was  best just to get it all put away.

Our Dgs had a great time on Christmas day. Santa brought him just what he wanted.  It was so much fun watching the delight and excitement as he opened his presents.  We had bil and sil over for a early dinner and the ham we had this year was a really good one. So we ate to much and just enjoy spending time together. A very nice day.

Dgs left to go home on the Saturday after Christmas. He didn't want to leave but I reminded him another Christmas was waiting for him as Santa had left  few of his presents for him there. He will be back here for spring break next year and will as usual spend the summer here.

I am looking forward to the new year. 2008 was not on of the best years in my life health wise so hoping 2009 will be a good one. The best part of this year was the birth of my youngest dgs. He is such a good baby now and down right adorable( Just ask his grandma) LOL.

We will go over and celebrate New Years Eve with sil and bil at the casino that is close to them. Should be fun and will be nice to get out of the house to just have some fun for a change. I don't do resolutions for the new year but I hope to do a better job of keeping myself healthy.

Wishing you all a healthy, happy New Year!!

HI Dutch

We always take the tree down on the 26th and the decorations in the house. The outside lights sometimes stay up for another week. If we still had family coming over for Christmas I might leave the tree up but I somehow doubt it. However we do have to get things moved and put away for the repairs that will be done on our house from the flooding we had.

Happy New Year!!!

Love ya

Happy New Year to you also!!! Sounds like Christmas was a good one for ya.

I usually take down Christmas today, but this year did it yesterday while the housekeepers did their thing - so it's done. New Years for us is usually very uneventful - tho this year the RR has slowed down so much between the weather and the economy DH has been home for a couple days (not so good for the paycheck to come!). S21 drove down to Phoenix to spend a day or two w/his Uni buddies still there before he flies back to Boston this weekend, & S18 was home & in bed before the ball dropped at midnite.

We had a good Christmas w/D33's family in So. CA - it is always better w/the little people to watch - (& I even drove the I-40 again!!). Got a call from SD27 in Afghanistan before & she's doing well - short time & getting ready to head back stateside next month before vacation trekking back to visit friends stationed in England & Germany.

I got DH (actually both of us) a treadmill for Xmas - & so far we're both using it pretty regularly. I'm in such desperate need of some regular exercise again after months of sitting, but for the most part am feeling pretty good. My lower right back has begun to loosen up after this first month of alternative treatment stuff, tho for the most part, my left shoulder & neck seem to be carrying most of the regular discomfort. I'm waiting to hear from the attorney about when I need to drive down to Los Angeles to visit w/their doc and have a sit down with them this next week & I get to go in to our medical center again next Friday for a biopsy of the thyroid lesion that showed up on the MRI & they had ultrasounded to make sure that it is just a cyst. Other than that I started quilting the borders on SD27's Xmas quilt again and D33 sent me home w/the rest of Diana Gabaldon's series following the "Outlander" so I've been reading something other than textbooks again. Not at all a bad start for the new year...

Also wishing you a healthy and happy new year to come.

Hi Jo

Sounds like a good Christmas. We usually don't do much for New Years either but this year Bil and sil talked us into going to the casino. Dh won playing poker so not a bad night.

My decorations usually stay up until the end of the 1st week in January.
