Hello....well it IS Winter in Minnesota....actual temp this am was -23...and windchill here in the Twin Cities was -45...'balmy winter day....' NOT.....Have been spending a lot of time inside....So what do you do when 'Trapped' inside by the weather?
I have started a project...want to do a felt and sequin Christmas stocking for each of my Grandchildren....Have them bought...think one will go back as I am NOT crazy about it....but love the other two! Have one started....and as I read and reread the directions I am thinking that I MUST be out of my mind to attempt 3 of them!!!! Will keep plugging away! Hopefully will get them done and share pictures....
Then have a good book started....The Time of My Life by Allison Winn Scotch....interesting premise....and good story!
Then have been getting on the treadmill....well I did today anyway...giggles.....
So have been keeping busy and active!!!
Hugs,

Hi Rj
Ah I sure remember days when it was that cold when I lived back in the midwest. I did a lot of reading when it was like that. I would not even attempt one stocking for my dgs LOL. Not a creative bone in this body
It's cold here too but not quite as cold as you have. This morning we were -13 with a wind chill of -25. Right now it's -4 with a wind chill of -20. School was cancelled today and they've already announced that it will be tomorrow too. They're afraid for the safety of any kids that have to walk to school or to wait outside for the school bus. The weatherman says that it'll start to get better mid-day tomorrow.
As far as what I do when I'm housebound, well, needless to say, it's all inside stuff. I'm going through some old papers and other stuff to try to glean out what has to be kept and what can be tossed. I also do more playing on the computer, watching DVR'd shows on tv, and reading.
Good Morning Ruth - as I have family & friends in NY State, OH, and Ds is currently stationed in IN - have been keeping an eye on this horrendous cold spell . . . so glad that the schools are closed (all 3 areas) - kids & adults, alike, shouldn't be out in this unless a very good reason (work, etc.)
Ruth its cold here and I've been keeping track of how cold it is across the country to see what my sisters are dealing with. I'm thinking my -4 wind chill this morning is something to embrace! How you Minnesota and other northern Mid West people do it is beyond me. I like cold and am enjoying my sub zero temps but you people are just plain crazy! Just to show you how nuts I and my family are I emailed Ralph abouth the weather and he's upset he's missing it and won't be home until next month. Yes we are cold weather people!
To show you how nuts we are during our worst blizzard back in 96 with a snowfall of 31" everyone was huddled indoors...except for us and our crazy neighbors across the street who grew up in my house...I'd call it genetic but I didn't give birth to my other two nutty almost ds:) A state of emergency was delcared and vehicular traffic was supposed to be halted...unless your my ds with a jeep who thinks he's invincible. Back and forth he went while the snow was only 1-2 feet deep. When it hit almost 3 feet I heard a sound resembling a motor boat nearing the house. My ds minus his muffler:)
Not to be outdone Bob, from across the street, decided this was the time he wanted to move his huge dump truck. He got about 40 feet down the street when he ran out of gas. Now I have a mufflerless jeep parked on my pavement in a huge snowdrift and a huge dumptruck blocking the street and the snow is still falling.
We pushed the truck onto the pavement when Sis, Bob's wife, decided their pavement needed to be shoveled. Sal, their ds, was shoveling the snow into the street when

Brrr that is just down right too cold!
