Liz started Monday and the kids love her! Why didn't I hire her back in the spring when she first asked for the job and fired Janet on the spot? This was her first week and I hear her responding to the kids the exact way I do...excellent! Janet terrorized them! Forcing them to PICK THINGS UP!  Liz, after asking a few times, makes a game out of it...who can pick up the most pieces...they love it and so do I! Finally someone I can trust the kids with who will not do emotional harm...its awesome!!!

Last week I took the older kids upstairs to my classroom and heard no screaming or crying. I was amazsed! With Janet all I heard was screaming! My stress factor has gone way down! Of course this may change the end of the month and first week of Feb. since 4 new kids are slated to start...and possibly one of Liz's friend's kid may join and Allie might return two days a week until she starts K but my baby will stay overnight on those nights for free:) Twelve kids in one house is hectic to say the least but I think LIz can handle her share. If I keep them all past the probation period I might ask Liz to work fulltime with partial benefits. Better than what she has now...nothing.

Mac had surgery to reduce the pressure from his glaucoma. Before surgery he had a battery of test including stress and doppler which he told me his cardiologist told him came back 100% clear except for PAD. I was confused. How could you have Pad when everything else was clear? Yesterday I got my answer. While waiting for Mac to be taken back to surgery the anesteologist checked his medical history and said...I see your stress test was abnormal. Excuse me? Abnormal how? Ischemia. and am I surprised?

His cardio knew if he hadn't changed his lifestyle after a triple by-pass he wasn't changing so why bother? I don't blame him. Why waste time and effort on someone who doesn't care? At least I know Mac will die from a heart attack if he doens't drastically change his ways and soon.
