Could use some prayers here.

DD1 just returned from her appointment with specialist. Her wrist had been bothering her and after a month, she made an appointment. Had ex-rays, then a CT scan. Then another appointment with two specialists. Seems she has multiple fractures. OK, doesn't sound to bad. Wait, also has a huge cyst that has taken away almost all of the bone.

So, here is the plan. They will cast it and apply ultra sound to promote bone growth. This will take 6 months minimum or longer. If that appears to be working, they will then take bone from her hip and do a graft. If it doesn't work they will fuse the wrist and she will lose motion.

I'm praying that by some miracle it heals and new bone develops eliminating the need for a graft.

Hi Rain

I am so sorry to hear this about your Dd. I sure hope the ultra sound and casting will help the problem. I will be keeping her in my prayers for sure.

Love

Wow, Rain, that sounds very painful. I'm a bit confused....do you know which came first, the fractures or the cyst? Did the cyst causing bone loss also cause these fractures?

Will be thinking of her....hope the casting alone does the trick.

it does sound pretty tricky, second opinion is a good idea

must be a way to keep mobility

I know you will also look into nutrition: calcium, etc

She must be one tough cooky to be in so much pain and keep going.

You are right....seems like a second opinion might be helpful.

Continued prayers for her to have answers, healing and recovery.

OMG, that doesn't sound too good right now, but ultrasound is amazing and I pray that will help heal and regrow bone.
