I am 48. About 2 years ago I noticed my normally small waist was disappearing. I started cardio and cut back intake on calories and had no change. Two years later my clothes are all so tight and my lower ab is honestly fat. I spin 4 times a week and eat clean. I am on the pill still bc my gyno said it might stabilize my hormones but I think I may go off since I am not sexually active.

What can I do about the battle of the middle bulge?

Hi and welcome to our board. Seems as we begin the trek into perimenopause and menopause our middles begin to thicken and our bodys don't burn calories the way they used to. I don't have any good answers for you either. Exercise, watching what you eat and making sure you get lots of fiber has helped me some.

I started doing a little Pilates to work on my waist and was shocked at the results I got in just a few weeks. I bought a DVD from Walmart called the 10 minute Pilates solutions and would do a few sessions a week and it really worked for me.

Pilates is amazing...sadly it did nothing for me aside from improving my core and posture. I went 3 days a week for a year.
