Who is the one person  that has most affected your life and why?

For me I think it is my Aunt, and the reason is because she always had time for everyone... she was busy but no matter how busy alwasy stopped to  listen and be there for you.

This is the Aunt who had 4 kids and adopted 5 then also fostered well over 100... and that is just a glimpste of what she was like.

OK Your turn......

Hmm good question Lor. Lots of people down the road of my life have influenced me.

My Mom for giving me the way I look at life. She taught me to never give up when I really want something. To do my best at looking at the brighter side of things. A dear friend who help me to really grow up and become a better Mom and woman. She helped me realize just how much I had. A lot of the women who came to this board have also added a lot of different views to my life and brought a lot of joy to me.

Love ya

Well, there have been many....but I'd probably say the most influential was my Dad who really instilled in me my fundamental values and work ethic.

My Grandma was also quite influential as she taught me a lot about running a frugal household and about gardening and making things. Much more than my own mom did. I used to clean house for Grandma on Saturdays and learned so much from her. I also picked up a lot of her "lingo," you know, her little sayings. I can't help it, they are just part of my lexicon--Frank says many of them he's never heard before.

HI Red

I wish I had had a grandmother. Mine were all gone by the time I was born. I think grandmas have a way sometimes of giving a child what a mother is sometimes to busy to give.

I have a lot of those saying too that were passed down to me by my Mom. I always laugh now when I hear myself saying those things. Brings back fond memories of the good times with Mom.

You better believe it that Grandmas rock! Oh yeah! Now that I am one myself, I can say that! LOL! You are right, now that I'm a grandma, I think I have more time to carve out and pay attention to and do things and explain stuff to the DGSs.

I hope my DGSs look back someday with fondness and maybe realize I had some influence. I noticed Dallas is starting to pick people's little sayings....it's cute to hear.

My mother, but there is as much bad as good and I won't get into it.... it's a hard subject to discuss, mainly because she has always been so very critical of me.

hmm..that is hard..one person?

I am going to have to with 2..my dad and my mom

My dad gave me this love of languages which ended up giving me a career!

I find I repeat lessons from my mom over and over..even just today when I was subbing:

"Just do your best, that is all anyone can ask of you" (used this one today)

"Kids are little people"

"treat each other with respect"

"the ones who are hardest to love need it the most"

she also forced me to be honest, even with myself

My dad was an absolutely charming man who had the knack of making others feel good about themselves

My mom died when my kids were little. My dad was very important in their lives
