Hello everyone, I was reading some of your discussions and this seems like my kinda site. I got my first computer for valentines day. Don't know alot about them but I can one finger type lol. I'm in my mid 50's and was raised by a wonderful aunt, love remodeling my house, my four children, and 9 grandchildren. Oh yeah, and my other half. He works all the time so I'm alone in the house alot. So I remodel as a hobby. Well anyway I like what I see here. Hugs Cindy

I live in upstate NY. Fingerlakes area near Watkins Glen. Very cold here today with high winds. I'm so ready for summer. If it wasn't for the fact of hubbies job and my dogs plus selling our house I'd probably move south. Washington has really had a rough winter too I noticed. It's nice meeting you Gabby. Know of any good sites to go to so I can learn how to use this machine lol? Free ones that is. I'm so confused. Hugs Cindy

Hi Cindy!

They call me Red here on the board. I live in Washington State, too, but lots further south than Gabby. I am almost in Oregon, actually.

I see you are a Grandma....nine times! I have 3 grandsons, and I just love being a granny! Like someone here said to me the other day, wen you're a grandma, you can give the little ones a bit more than their harried moms may have time to. I really am enjoying playing around and goofing off with them....and honestly, when I was a young mom, I didn't have as much time to do that with the girls. I guess it is one luxury of getting older.

We have had a cold winter here; today, tho, it is bright and sunny. Makes me itch to get out in the yard and get things started, but it is still way too cold. But it's hopeful anyway, to see the sun. We are planning an extended veggie garden for this summer.

I envy you that you are brave enough to do home remodeling. I can't even commit to a decorating style! LOL!

If you have some simple questions on your computer use, maybe we can help you. For instance, we use a lot of acronyms (I think that's what they're called) like LOL (laughing out loud); DH (dear husband) DD (dear daughter) DS (dear son), SIL (son or sister-in-law depending on the context). So ask away!

I work full time, so am not on the computer much in my off-time. I am on it all day long, so at night, not so much interest.

Glad you came by!

Hello! Thanks for the computer advice but I think I live in the only county where the library doesn't have computer classes. They only offer tutoring classes for school students. I guess it's a good thing for our county. My hubby is 60 and may have to retire soon due to carpal tunnel in both arms. He's in so much pain and will not go to a doctor. Men can be so stubborn but he is a good one. Hugs Cindy

Hi Red, Yes nine grandchildren, four children, two pound puppies. Being around the young ones is so much fun. The older ones are now into sports and other school activities so their not around as much. My sister works with a computer all day and refuses to have one at home. What kind of work do you do? Home remodeling isn't that hard. I always make sure if I change something it will work and look right or it can be changed back. I used to anyway. Now I just start tearing down walls lol. My dh swears the house is going to fall in on us but as long as supporting walls don't get cut out I'm fine. Thanks for the acronym tips. I wrote them down. Hugs Cindy

I am an office administrator at a large Presbyterian Church here in my town. I also do some freelance writing, not as much as I should or would like. My job before this I was sports writing at the local newspaper, but I just could not survive on the pay. I do miss it tho.

Before that I was an admin at the local health dept.; had that job for 13 yrs then I decided to go back to school and got a journalism degree.

My DH and I are big sports fans and are headed for the Tampa area on Mar. 5 to get warm and watch Spring Training (baseball) games. His DDs live in that area, too, so we'll get in a visit.

Now how was that for a little quiz on the acronyms? LOL!

HI Cindy

I know all about subborn husbands. My dh need a knee replacement but he is not ready to do it yet and sometimes the pain is pretty bad for him. The Dr told him a cortisone shot would help him a lot. However he is really afraid of needles so no way will he do that. Stubborn he is but also a pretty good guy.

Well if you have some simple questions about the computer we might be able to help you here. So don't be afraid to ask us.

We had our washer flood our home the end of Nov. They are just about finished with getting things put back in order. Not really remodeling but we sure have had a mess for a month or two.

HUGS
