Hello friends! I haven't posted in a couple of weeks. Most of you know about the ongoing saga of my mother's medical issues! Well, a bit of good news at this point. This week I was able to move her out of the rehab facility (which was miles away!!) and back to the facility here in town where she had lived before all the falls. She can no longer handle the "independent" apartment, but was admitted to the "assisted" level. I was concerned that she would have to go to "skilled nursing".....not the most pleasant area.....BUT.....she was able to go to assisted. So.....we have been getting her settled there. She was NOT happy the first couple of days......mostly the stress of getting used to a new place, but today is more upbeat. So, I am keeping my fingers crossed that she is careful and does not have another fall and can be in this setting for a while. It really is a beautiful place and the staff is so loving and caring. She is lucky to be where she is, though she does not necessarily see that.
I am hopeful that I will be able to cut down on my hours spent on the road and care-taking. Maybe get some of my life back?
Did I tell you that ds and dil are expecting again? Its another girl and we are delighted. Due the end of June. Dgd will be 3 the end of April and is looking forward to being a big sister.
It is a beautiful day here....mid 40's.....but rain changing to snow coming in tonight. Just a reminder that Spring is not quite ready to show!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Warm winter wishes!
Hugs, Sooze

Sprinkling a bit of magic dust so dear Mom will settle in and get to a place where she really likes her new place. Does she tend to keep to herself in her apartment, or does she socialize at all with other residents? I think the ones who socialize and become involved in the facility's activities really do so much better overall. At least that is the case where DH works.
Congrats on the new granddaughter coming soon. I just love being a Granny! I had 2 little boys at my house all day yesterday, and even though I was pretty tired at the end of it, it was such a fun day. We did lots of stuff, esp. Legos and eating! LOL!
Well, its not fun to be forced into re-decorating, but it sounds as though it is all turning out beautifully!
Yes Gabby it is better news than we have had for a while.
Improvement is always good!! I take her for a doctor appointment tomorrow.
I will happily accept all
Ok..if mom needs a pep talk, call me...I will use my best NY accent!!
see, now that kind of snow is agreeable...not the mountains of it we have covering EVERYTHING
yours is more "user friendly", just picturesque
hope the daffodils are hardy!!
good luck with all!
